To divorce DH for snoring?

chicaguapa · 19/08/2015 00:22

I had congratulated myself on marrying someone who didn't snore. Now, after 15 years of being together, DH has starting snoring. I feel like I have been tricked. Angry

Is there any hope or is separate rooms (or divorce) the only answer? Is it an age thing (his snoring, not my intolerance Wink)?

I really cannot bear it. It makes me feel stabby.

I am a woman and have started snoring recently. It is mortifying. I hate waking up to find DH not there. It is evidently relatively common with menopause. I feel sorry for me and my fellow snorers. It seems to be fair game for piss taking in contrast to other medical conditions. Sad

I try and explain to him that it's like me sitting in bed poking him in the head really hard every 20 seconds so you NEVER sleep.

Oh this ^ a 100 times. If snorers understood this crushing frustration they would all be at the doctors sorting themselves out.

We ARE at the doctors trying to 'sort ourselves out'!

some of you are. I'm talking about my DH who thinks it's funny Confused

muchtoo
Neck toning : it basically comes down to the yoga / pilates / alexander technique exercises
to improve how far he can turn his head to each side, how mobile his shoulders are and how much neck flexion he has

I've snored chronically all my life.

After a massive nose break I had 8 pieces of broken septum removed and the remaining 6 glued
there is now no more they can do,
but I have one permanently closed nostril
which would be fine
BUT
when you sleep you alternate breathing through each nostril on a 10 minute cycle
if you live with a snorer, be aware of that cycle as when breathing switches to the down side, snoring will restart
that is why nasal strips can help

OP, I hope you realise you have made it onto the "Overlockers" site who have no clue as to what AIBU is and thought you were being serious about divorcing your husband for snoring...perish the thought Smile

Had a lovely thread on there about "the hack". Then somebody mentioned AIBU and then somebody else mentioned "there is a woman posting about divorcing her husband for snoring"...they have no humour whatsoever :-D
