Is he/they likely to be Russian? The email address listed is from a popular Russian provider. Something about it doesn't seem like a pissed off dad (divorce, seperation etc) to me, it's more like they've got a grudge against MN itself for reasons other than blaming it for relationship problems (political perhaps?).

Sending a SWAT team is not a normal police response to a random call. It would have to be coming from someone with security connections to those services.... possibly a private company?

I guess you could pinpoint where MN'ers are logging in from? That would often be their home address. Some of the passwords made me giggle (although I know this is not really a laughing matter at all)

So this is why I had to change my password yesterday. I thought I'd been hacked, especially when a password reset didn't appear in my usual email account. Then I remembered the one I used which is slightly different and let out a big sigh of relief when it came through...

I've reported the tweet and checked my user details are not on the list. But had already changed passwords. I am feeling increasingly uneasy about staying in this beautiful place.

I am on the list - Mutt kindly checked for me on the main sticky thread.

I have changed my password (twice!). Luckily I only used that password here so my very basic understanding is that I should be ok. My IP address is on there too. I have deleted PM's and also emailed mnhq to ask if I should do anything else.

Copy it into word processor and do an automated find on your username is the quickest way.

Umm I tend to think Justine is correct. Neither of my identities are on there (one I haven't used for a long time and only use to protect other people's privacy).
I usually keep my main one "logged in" as I use private devices.

Not that I am unsympathetic to the cause but now I've actually seen my name and pass word on the list I'm fucking angry. Angry that some cyber maniac is doing this and angry that my password was not better protected. Thankfully I don't use said password for much other than a few forms.
