No, no I'm not.

See the stickied thread from Justine re hackers and go to the end. The Troll has just dumped a load of MN usernames and passwords on twitter.

OP posts:
OnlyLovers · 19/08/2015 09:26

I don't know where to start looking for the list. Confused What's the Twitter poster's name or a key word?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 19/08/2015 09:26

The full list has been posted on the "Am I on the list" thread (alphabetically, with IP address and password removed)

Ilikesweetpeas · 19/08/2015 09:27

I was logged out and had to change my pass word yesterday. Just thought it was my phone being an arsehole though.
Just checked the list and thankfully. I'm not on it. Which is lucky as I am quite an active member.
Mind you changing your pass word is all very well, but if they by passed our old pass words. I am sure they could do it again, but I don't suppose it's worth worrying about something that hasn't happened.

gordonpym · 19/08/2015 09:31

Only1scoop you are not on the list

OnlyLovers · 19/08/2015 09:32

Thanks, ItsAll.

Only1scoop · 19/08/2015 09:33

Thanks Gordon
Am on App on phone so trying to search was hopeless.

Myturnnow4 · 19/08/2015 09:35

Thank you sniff.

Bakeoffcake · 19/08/2015 09:39

Thanks you very much sniff.

Dawndonnaagain · 19/08/2015 09:40

He's done a public pastebin dump. There are over 3000 names on the list. Totally public.

Dawndonnaagain · 19/08/2015 09:40

Including all of Mumsnet Moderators, Tech, etc.

Bakeoffcake · 19/08/2015 09:41

Sorry for the question that has probably been answered up thread, but am on phone and can't read it all quickly.

Could someone please summarise what to do, if you are on the list

Many thanksFlowers

kungfupannda · 19/08/2015 09:42

While this is all very unpleasant, I don't think most members need to panic. Instead of worrying too much about who is and isn't on the published list, it's probably safer to assume that your details have been obtained and act accordingly. Change any passwords that are broadly similar to your MN password. If you have time, it might not be a bad idea to change all passwords.

Whoever this is, they're not going to have time to sit and go through everyone's posting history and try and link it to any personal details they've obtained. I would think that the main risk is password security for other log-ins, and email accounts. There's one user on the other thread whose email account is being heavily spammed.

While people who are trying not to be found by abusive partners, or people with sensitive jobs are obviously going to be worried about their details being made public, it's probably worth keeping reminding yourself that this is an attack on the site itself, rather than on any individual user. It makes far more of an impact if large quantities of data are published because then everyone has to run around trying to find out if their details are included.

I'm going to remove any personal details from my profile and change all my passwords, but that's all I'm doing for now.

PennyForum · 19/08/2015 09:45

Could someone please tell me if I am on the list. Many thanks

AnnoyedParent22 · 19/08/2015 09:46

I would be panicking more if I was on the Ashley Madison list.... Grin

Bakeoffcake · 19/08/2015 09:46

Thank you Kungfu, that's reassuring.

kungfupannda · 19/08/2015 09:46

Also, I've just noticed that my username is spelt wrong on the list. So it's got to be from a log-in attempt, and not from any other source.

PennyForum, sorry Yes you are

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 19/08/2015 09:55

I'm too lazy to type in any address. I just use saved links. Dont know if that helped me.

gordonpym · 19/08/2015 09:55

And Squishyeyeballs you are as well, sorry.
Name+password+Ip address

kungfupannda · 19/08/2015 09:59

Another suggestion. If you want to add a layer of protection between online sites and your main email address, then set up another email address purely for registering with online sites, and then if you don't want to keep logging in to check it, set it up to forward all email to your main address. If it gets spammed, you can just stop the forwarding.

What a sad sad cockfarmer is whoever did this. I'm sure the attack is because it's a high profile site full of women doing nasty man-hating uppity things like expressing their opinions and helping each other, and there's nothing more MASSIVE LOLZ than disrupting their lives, seeing them panicking, changing their passwords.

I'm not on the list but I've changed my password anyway, and reported his Twitter account/post as being abusive so hopefully Twitter will take it down.

Also in general recommend setting up 2-step verification for email (gmail does it, not sure about others), at least then you know even if someone did somehow get your email password they still can't get into your email.
