To not go out or do anything fun at all until DS2 has turned 3

He was such a happy baby. And then he turned 2 and nothing is fun anymore. When we are out, he wants to go home. When we are at home, he still gets upset and wants to go home. He doesn't want to go swimming, or play, or eat, or anything else. He just wants to say no and have tantrums and it is absolutely doing my fucking head in.

We're away at the moment and he's just had the screaming ab dabs on the floor. Not sure why. Nothing would fix it until he decided to climb back into bed and go to sleep. Argh.

I would recommend the book 'Playful Parenting'

Oh can my ds 3.6 years [severe language delay], join the cave queue Grin. He will want to go out, then after 1hour, whine to go home. Or want to go to the shop first and get chocolate before doing any activity. I dread taking him out as he ruins it for poor dd8 as my attention is taken up on him.

My DD (also just turned 2) is a bit like this. She does is awful shrill scream if she doesn't get her own way. It's so embarrassing in public.

I think you just have to stick to your guns until this phase passes.

I feel ya! You got this.

This afternoon my 3.6 year old through the mother of epic tantrums, refused to put shoes on and leave the house so I had to put 4 month old in baby bjorn and her in the pushchair to run errands. She screamed and thrashed around the entire time AND took her socks off and kept putting her feet on the wheels. The tuts and murmering from old people in the high street made it SO much easier to deal with.
