cats

Are this pair not the most adorable you've ever seen?! I love their faces, and their fluffiness. Ddog doesn't want 2 cats, but I think you might, yes YOU! (I really hope they get a nice home together).

I don't like the look of Persian cats but I don't wish them any harm and hope they get a home.

Gileswithachainsaw my SIL had a Persian who was snuffly and eye watery and sluggish but so sweet natured. He was called Giles Smile

SoupDragon · 18/08/2015 10:33

They do look like they've been hit in the face with a frying pan.

This :)

Still, there are plenty of people out there who like the look of a flat faced Persian so I hope they find a home soon.

I love cats and have two already but I really dislike those type of cats looks - they do not look like cats to me!

YeOldeTrout · 18/08/2015 22:49

Never mind the faces, the FUR, omg, the fur. Having to deal with all that shedding from long-hairs & stuff found in their fur. I pick slugs out of my long-hair's coat sometimes. Arghghgh....

cute cats in OP but face/nose-deprived is a naughty thing to do to an animal. I dislike it more on dogs than cats, mind.

SWFARMER · 18/08/2015 22:51

They're exotics which I think is different to Persians? Super cute though. I want a cat. Considering two and definitely want to adopt! Would have them in a heartbeat if we'd already moved!

SacredHeart · 19/08/2015 08:53

Exotics were bred out of Persians to make a short haired version.

Interestingly, sometimes a Persian will have a litter with a lot with short hair and it is still classed as a Persian. Similarly a ESH will sometimes have a long haired kitten but it is still an exotic short hair. Grin

I hope they get homes. And are neutered. The deformities of breeding are crime against cats.

StayWithMe · 19/08/2015 09:49

I'm astonished at the number of 'cat lovers' that say they don't like these breed of cat! Please tell me you mean that you don't like poor cats being bred to the point of having problems and not that you don't like them because of how they look? They didn't choose to be persians. I look after a rescue one for a friend, now and again, and she is an adorablely affectionate, playfull wee thing. A cat is a cat. It shouldn't matter how they look and I hope these two get a wonderful home.

BeautifulBatman · 19/08/2015 09:54

I don't like the breed because of the deformities. I also don't like how they look. They're bloody ugly. I've rescued many persians (I live in the middle east and it's the favourite breed to get bought then dumped). I cannot undestand how anyone finds the flat face attractive or actually thinks that the deformities are worth the aesthetics. This goes for fanciers and breeders alike. It shouldn't be allowed.

ihavenonameonhere · 19/08/2015 09:54

I have two rescue Persians. Came to us 6 months ago aged 10. They are ace, they are house cats but go into the garden but don't want to go any further. So chilled but they do need a lot of mantinence.

Trills · 20/08/2015 08:03

I hoe they get a wonderful home too, but it's not my home.

I'm not running a shelter, it's my home. People have pets for selfish reasons - because they think having a pet will be nice.

If I choose to have an animal in my house it will be at least partly because I want to enjoy looking at it.
