Taking dds on hol during term time (because the school changed the dates)

Once in a lifetime holiday booked by ILs. We checked the dates to ensure all children in the family were on school holidays.
Now my dds school have decided to change the dates of the published school holidays. This would mean that i would need to take them out of school for 4 days off during term time.
Aibu to still take them? Can the school still fine me? Dd1 is 8 and dd2 is 3 (nursery).

And if they chose to fine me, I would go to court with a copy of the original dates, a copy of the date of booking the holiday and the date they then changed their holiday dates.

I'm not a supporter of people who take their child our during term times, but in your case the school published the dates, you booked holidays based on those dates, then they changed them. Go on holidays, and the school can get stuffed.

Take them tell school you booked after consulting thd published dates its fine. Our council published dates wrong a few years ago they were a day out god knows how they managed it numptys

Yes I agree with everyone. I'd never choose to take mu children out of school for a holiday in most other circumstances but in this case I'd say it's ro be expected

We haven't booked our flights yet (so can't evidence booking it before the date change) but the ILs have booked the big Villa for everyone and their flights, the rest of the family (bILs, SiLs etc) have also sorted their flights.

Flights fOr Florida are low in availability for some dates I would crack on! I just booked and the price had also started to go up.

In our LA, the fine only kicks in after 9 periods of unauthorised absence, so after 4 1/2 days. I'd go anyway if I were you.

Don't try and go 4 days earlier/later. Why should you're holiday be reduced because of the school's decision to change their dates?
