I have 19 bites . why do they even exist?

Spoon in boiling (well as hot as you can bear ) water. Then put hot spoon into bite.

Also can use cotton wool in the very hot water but that harden on the fingers!

After a weekend camping in the mountains without insect repellant I must have >100 bites right now. All over my face, neck, chest and hands. Fortunately they are mostly midge ones I think as they haven't come up too big (and not that itchy) but I look diseased!

I have found jungle juice to be the best repellant.

What's jungle juice?

Is it the 'jungle formula' stuff? I used level 4 (50% deet) which was ok but still got at least 2 per night. Not too bad, but I react terribly

Why do animals have to have a purpose. All animals' true purpose is to reproduce themselves, from an evolutionary sense.

Their number 1 purpose in the world is probably depressingly population control, having killed more people than every other animal combined.

They're sport for the dog.

Avon Skin so Soft is a good repellent. We use it loads.

They're food for bats which can scoff several thousand in a night.
Their purpose, same as every other living thing, is to pass their genes onto the next generation.

Yep,skin so soft is used by lots of outdoor survivally types.
We live somewhere very mozzied -at first the bites really bothered us.Now I'm not sure if we get bitten less,or somehow have developed a tolerance of the effects.

The sole purpose of a mosquito is to give slightly drunk tourists something to hit with a flip flop, or was that just me ?

Love this! Glad to see you and a couple of others on this thread pointing out that mosquitos have as much "purpose" as any other species, which is to say none, except in the furtherance of its own survival. They are fuckers though, I'll give you that, OP.
