To want DP to cut me some slack?

I don't know why I do this, and I try my best not to as it's not intentional, but recently I've been missing bits of infomation out of my thought process, which leads to much frustratio and questions.

For example, I was watching a 'bad tattoo' program and the lady said 'she got it done at an untrained friend's house when she was 17'. My immediate reaction to DO was 'can you get tattoos at 17?' Which lead to an angry DP explaining that it already said it was done at a friends.

Or, yesterday I wondered why DP turned the boiler plug off. When, moments before we'd already established there was no hot water. This lead to further frustration from DP.

I don't know what to do Hmm perhaps I have recently started doing this because it's never happened all that much before. My wok mates an other friends have never mentioned info already explaining something, but perhaps that's because they're much too polite.

Call 111, they may ask you to see the out of hours gp.

AuntyMag10 · 15/08/2015 17:37

You really need to see your gp to rule out anything serious. As for your dp he needs to grow up. Even if you are asking annoying questions, surely he should tell you nicely rather than lash out.

Gosh you do need to see a doctor. Memory lapses after a bang on the head can be serious.

googoodolly · 15/08/2015 17:40

Yes, ring 111. They'll probably ask you to go to OOH for a scan of some sort. Memory loss after a bang on the head isn't funny. Your DP sounds like he needs to grow up a bit.

FenellaFellorick · 15/08/2015 17:41

He is wrong to be dismissive.

It is possible that this sudden onset of short term memory problems is unrelated to you bashing your head. That does not mean that suddenly not being able to take in information is ok. It's not!

It is also not impossible that something may be wrong as a result of you hurting your head. Bangs to the head can be serious. If he does not understand that, he's a bit of a nit, really.

Either nothing is wrong, in which case you have made a trip to the doctor that reassured you.

Or something needs treatment or monitoring, in which case it can be.

If you don't go to the doctor and nothing is wrong then fine. but you cannot know that the bang to your head did not affect you, or that nothing else is going on that has caused a sudden deterioration in your memory function and if there is something, and you do not get seen, you might not be well.

Problems with seeing a gp and not needing help - none.

Problems with not seeing a gp but needing help ?
