A special kind of arsehole (it's a parking one)

To think it takes a special kind of arsehole to use up scarce hospital parking so you can go watch a football match?

Bold as brass in football shirts marching through the hospital carpark on their way to the ground while patients can't park Angry

Also wondering if this is watford! I'm due to have dc2 there and dreading the thought of going into labour on a match day - bad enough parking there at the best of times! ????

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 16/08/2015 20:45

This is definitely not OK! Hospitals generally have 'just enough' parking as it is. True, there would be no Out Patient appointments on a Saturday PM but there are still visitors & A&E patients. There are often more visitors on a weekend too.

The football club need to find a way to solve this problem.

TheTravellingLemon · 16/08/2015 21:01

Brindler you might think that, I couldn't possibly comment Wink.

I also wouldn't tell you that I am also expecting DC2. The road that runs past the ground to the hospital is closed on match days as well. It definitely features in my nightmares.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler we were there for an out patient appointment. I was surprised when it came through on a Saturday, but they do have them.

Hospitals do have appointments on a weekend, particularly for those under regular consultant care and who have frequent scans and tests. Not being able to park because of a football match is disgusting. YANBU.

Fingers crossed that neither of you go into labour anywhere near a match day!

Hassled · 16/08/2015 21:24

That really is a special kind of arsehole. May well be worth talking to the Club. Fingers crossed you and Brindler are OK on the day.

Agree sounds like Watford.
At least when in labour you can abandon car at maternity entrance.
I think you can dial for paramedic if stuck in match traffic.
It is a hell of a long walk post c section to the main car park!

Yes most hospitals in Wales have free parking but not all. The local hospital to me which is the largest hospital in Wales charges £2-20 for 4 hours even for the disabled. Lucky it is not near the football or rugby stadiums.

I am picturing Vicarage Road now. DF was in the hospital a little while ago and even on a non-match day parking was bad.
