UGHHH.
recently set up as self employed so have been networking throughout my area. I'm a tattoo artist renting a chair as well as working full time (Looking to go fully self employed once i've built up a good enough rep) since I set up for some reason I've ended up with a gazillion and one forever living reps on my business page, at least 4 a day message my business and or/personal page (deliberately connected to business page) and even one got hold of my number somehow (not online) still baffled about that. I deal with messages like this (actual copy and paste but names omitted)

Hi YUDO, i hope you don't mind me messaging you.
You popped up on my newsfeed & I noticed you are self employed like me. I started a business recently through a brill company named forever living (which fits in with the industry you are currently in) working from home for an extra income which fits in perfectly with my 3 children, work & all of my other commitments.
From what I can see on your profile you seem to be the type of person that does really well in this type of business, I thought I could pop you a 5 minute link to see if it's maybe for you or not.
I may be wrong, it might not be for you but only you know that. Let me know if you've got 5 & I'll send you the short link to have a nosey at!

Or...... I could build up my own business with hard graft and not purchase a hundred pound kit of shitty aloe that I can get from pound stretchers? Logistically, If I sold 1000 of products a month (Would need to be glued to a laptop or phone!) I'd earn 200 pounds in commission. 50 quid a week. for being glued to my laptop... I suppose I could make false claims and guilt trip hormonal new mams into joining though.. that'd get me a bonus... mmm. how about no?

I then quickly blocked her and 5 minutes later got another message (which i just blocked right off the bat, engaging makes me too angry but sometimes I just can't resist!) also no bloody idea how sticking needles in someone over and over is anything similar to flogging forever living but there we go. AIBU to not have attempts to recruit me all the blooming time? I've had similar off yonique but after a few thanks but no thanks messages they've buggered off, had it off actiderm once and promptly said i use their products already and enjoy them (true) but would never join, got left alone since then (probably don't want to upset a happy customer...might be an idea for future?) but forever living just WON'T let up. I honestly am considering making a complaint but don't know if I can.. Its bad enough seeing their shit everywhere...
PS if you're a forever living rep, only comment about your 50k a year and company car if you want to get ripped to shreds. I just started my period.

I tried to get recruited by a random, I told her messaging randoms was not the best way to build her business.

I have a few on my fb, most within the same upline. Thankfully top peg isn't. I think I mainly feel desperately sorry for the one as she is so convinced it is the answer to everything. They sell this idea of being able to spend all your time with your family, but surely to make it work you need to put the hours in.

It does make me chuckle heartily though when I see one my directors white land rover and wonder if in fact he is a male middle aged FL rep. Grin

Quite frankly I hate it. Another exchange from a few weeks back (can't find it to copy and paste but went something like this)
Aloe shite rep: Hi! I see you're self employed working from x studio I hope your business is doing well! i'm also self employed with my own business under forever living. I make double what I was earning when working fulltime but it can be done alongside a job! you have an advantage too you can sell the products to your existing customers if you'd like to ask any questions please do message me xxx
Me: So you're telling me that based on a commission rate of 20 percent I can make 8000 a month (Double my average full time wage?) I'd need to sell in the region of 40k per month to get that. Do you want to retract that statement????
I got blocked.
Lmao. Seriously though it pisses me off- I've done MLM including avon when I was a single mum on an apprentice wage, I used it to buy things for my DS for christmas and birthdays, its good for that but its alot of work with little return. I worked 4-5 hours a day on average doing MLM and made about 250 a month depending on the time of year (Before valentines day and christmas were the best times to do it, could get quite a bit more than that then). It was ideal for me as it was only ever designed to be a sideline and as long as i had a fiver a week to put in DS's savings account and could save another fiver for the next christmas/birthday (pretty easy as his birthday is the middle of the year!) I was fine. But it REALLY REALLY annoys me when its made out that you can make thousands, no, you can't, its a good way to make "Pocket money" or to build up your childs savings if you have no income spare and can work a few hours a day from your laptop/doing a leaflet/catalogue round with your baby in the pram but it is not and never will be a fulltime wage.
Some claim to earn 50+k and one will always show up at one time or another going "I drive a new audi a4 and enjoy 3 fully funded holidays and a salary of 50k a year and can spend all my time with my kids!" yeah right. Because your kids enjoy handing out leaflets, taking selfies covered in crap makeup or lotions and spending hours a day trying to recruit or sell to strangers. Yes you're in the house with them but you're not spending time with them. Plus as an ex salesperson (until i set up as self employed I worked in sales half of the week to bulk up my income as i only got licensed as an artist this year after lots of training and apprentice/minimum wages!) I can say that commission only jobs and MLM is a stop gap/pocket money earner at best and a scam at worst...
