Aibu to apply for new job?

Started a new job 6 1/2 months ago really like it but another job has come up in the same department just doing something completely different Aibu to apply for it when ive not been in this new job long ? Does it look bad on me?

You can only try- just maybe expect them to ask you at interview why your changing so soon. If it's for career progression, then no problem- but if it's because you get bored easily, or because of a problem that could be rectified if you spoke to your boss- a bit more of a problem.

If your good at your job, and want to progress then go for it.

It's not because I'm bored but more because I don't see this job coming up again anytime soon, also more money a grade higher, but Its totally different to what I'm doing hmm don't know what to do

Try it and see, however they may question if you have the experience since you've only been there a short time. Could you have an informal chat with your boss to find out if you could be capable of doing this new role or would you rather not?

I don't need the exact experience as its completely different, I don't really want to speak to my boss as even tho Its the same department it will be a different manager, i wish I'd been there longer as I wouldnt feel as bad lol
