Just had another one on Facebook about hackers taking over your account to post offensive things. Ten seconds on Google confirms that this is a hoax that has been circulating since 2011. MIL reposted that ridiculous warning about thieves spraying paper with chloroform and teling you it's perfume, and some other made up rubbish about the number of weekends in August, which also five seconds research tells you is fake.

Why do people mindlessly repost and circulated this bollocks? Area they really so undiscerning that they just believe whatever they are told? It really winds me up up and I have to fight the urge to repy telling them they are muppets.

I have one who shares missing persons stuff all the time. Doesn't matter where they've gone missing from (Australia, USA, Canada) because well, 'you never know'.

I tackled her once about a 'watch out for this man he goes to pet shops and buys puppies for dog fighting' post. Er, you can't buy dogs in pet shops and he's in America, so I'm fairly unlikely to catch him in Pets at Home.

I blocked someone who went on an inexplicable rant about mosques being built near pubs and in the red light districts to see 'how they like it'.

I had one who repeatedly shared missing posts from the US.
In the end I asked her what she thought the chances are of finding missing Bobby from Ohio perusing the shelves in pound land in our local town. She didn't answer Grin
