To want to take my babies on holiday alone :(

I'm desperate to take my babies away for a few days on my own. But I don't drive! So fed up of not being able to do anything!

So I priced up a holiday for a week abroad, aibu to not want to pay 1500 for me and two young (7&6) children to go away!

We don't have a car. We have holidayed all over the place using public transport and the occasional taxi.

Brings a whole new meaning to travelling light! I suppose it means fewer options but we always have a ball. Lots of walking/planning meals ahead etc. A car would be handy but it's not on the cards for now, so it works for us.

Odd thread. I don't drive either and I've been all over the uk with my four children on trains and buses. Get a family and friends railcard, OP!

If you don't want to pay for a holiday abroad, don't. If you want to go somewhere in the UK, get a train or a bus or something.
I agree, odd thread.

Why do you keep specifying you want to take them alone? Who usually takes you?

Torbay is a fab place to go if you don't drive. Get boats or steam train between the towns. Loads of stuff for kids and loads of cheapy caravan parks with stuff on site.
