had one of those baby on board signs saying "prince Joshua on board". My dad said "bet he's a little fucker". Have people lost the plot or what? Grin

The emergency services myth made more sense when my dad told it to me because, at that point, seatbelts weren't compulsory, and many cars didn't have them, so small children could, and did, get flung clear of the car in an accident.

That's what made me believe it when my dad told it to me - that, plus the fact that he was my dad, and clearly never lied to me (even when telling me about the little gangs of dwarves who run ahead of you and behind you under the road at night, switching the catseyes on and off Grin).

Whaaaaa?!?! I'll never sleep again after being creeped out by that! never mind the fact that I'll be staring into my rear view mirror looking for the evil little bastards

If it's a myth then I hate the bloody things even more... Seriously, what is the point of them then?!

Urgh, now I'm even more grumpy than I was in the first place Wink

Maybe he was prince Joshua, who knows? :)
And you were meant to wave and be in awe.

Sorry, Happenstance. If it helps, they are in a little tunnel under the road - two gangs, one switching the catseyes on in front of you, the others switching them off behind you.

Whilst I totally agree the "prince Joshua" is total cringe a dear friend of mine was in a car accident recently, she has a "baby on board" sign on her car. There were several cars involved in the accident and the emergency services ran towards her car first asking who was in the silver ford as the sign suggested there was a person on board who was incapable of unstrapping themselves. Fortunately her dc wasn't in the car but I do believe there is a purpose to these signs.
