To feel a bit put out that if 70% of spending is controlled by women why is 80% of our choice of product made by men? I was really shocked at how few women are at board level

I can't help feeling that experienced women should get to make the CHOICE, rather than just being in a focus group.

Not sure where "gormless SAHM" came from Trout?

I didn't think anyone is criticising the SAHM choice. The point is, we can't lament the lack of female board members and not recognise that the choice of many to be a SAHM feeds into that.

I doubt purely a factor of age, men are very reluctant to try for professions that are historically seen as women's work (and are also historically lower paid, but I doubt lower pay is main reason why the men don't go for these jobs, the blokes just can't identify with doing that job). See Dinner Ladies vs. Bin men. Hair Dressers vs. Plumbers, Preschool staff vs. Plastic welders (etc).
