Dd is the noisiest drinker I've ever met

and she makes me wince when she drinks. It's like nails on a blackboard.

She kind of slurps each sip making a huge amount of noise then smacks her lips together so you get sluuurppp then a kind of noise you get drinking an almost empty drink through a straw. Then smack lips.
it's so loud.

I know iabu but wibu to ask her to drink outside or in another room... Shock

DH is similar though - vile, the lot of them Wink

How old is she? If she's over 5 then it's time to teach her how to drink properly.

I agree that if you can do something, you should. It's not nice to sit near someone in work, transport etc who makes noises like that. For a child it's obviously forgivable but I think you should probably make her aware of it.

I know w 10 yo who gluts like a drain, it's frankly nauseating to listen to but her parents seem proud of it... Hmm

Some people...with say adenoid issues, can't help making a bit of a noise. But for those with no issues, it's not acceptable.

I've taught her and taught her but she still does it.She's flipping twelve. She seems to have a low palate and sometimes chokes on food so may be connected to that?
or maybe she's just noisy argh

Tell her to drink silently. You are not the only person she will encounter in life who will find it revolting.

I have a medical issue and a very noisy drinker. Also choke easily. Maybe get her checked out at the gp?

Oh god I hate that noisy slurping glugging thing some children do. Visceral revulsion when I hear it.

Our gp is useless and diagnoses without examining. His favourite thing is to recommend calpol for every single complaint without examining.

byosnowman do you mind if I ask what the problem is? We can't seem to get the bottom of why she sometimes chokes .
