It's been going on for about 9 or 10 months now, every time I eat my stomach goes massive. I'm not exaggerating, I look 7 months pregnant. I saw the GP back in December who said I was constipated but surely that wouldn't still be the case? Blood test for celiac came back negative.

Please help me figure it out, can post a pic if it'll help.

Bread? I'd cut out wheat.

Roomba that is interesting.
I'm going to ask to have the implant removed I think, these periods are getting me down. Just need to persuade dp to have the snip...

It's weird because I used to think bread was the cause but keeping an eye on it the past few days I've been ok after bread. On Sunday when I took the picture I'd had a roast so I now think potatoes could have something to do with it?

I've started taking movicol again (GP gave me in dec) so I'll see if there's any improvement until I can get to the doctor.

You do need to have a proper check like a colonoscopy to rule out any serious issues.

Dare I mention Ovarian problems can be misdiagnosed as IBS. Please get checked out.

I'll definitely go back to the GP, I'm just waiting for my new patient check next week before I can make an appointment. Thanks all Flowers

I have IBS triggered by dairy, but also get hugely bloated and windy when I eat potatoes. I use butternut squash instead now (lovely as chips).

Look up diastasis recti. It's when your transverse abdominal muscles are weak, so bloat really shows. It could also explain constipation. You should be able to check for it yourself.

Another one saying get checked asap. Your symptoms are very similar to ovarian problems.
Don't allow your gp to dismiss your symptoms without proper investigation.

Come back and let us know how you are Smile

I'm like this op. Never used to be but since having dc's and a hysterectomy my stomach balloons after a meal. I feel so bloated in the evenings. Not sure why as I never used to be like this but I'm guessing my tummy muscles are knackered and hormone changes probably aren't helping.
Hope things improve for you soon!

fukki I've just found a video on how to check for diastasis recti (thank you btw, hadn't heard of it) there's definitely a gap but no more than a fingers width so it's not that I don't think.

Been keeping track of what I'm eating and when I'm bloated, but tonight my stomach felt like it was about to burst after a glass of water Sad
Just waiting till I can see a doctor.

Flowers for everyone else suffering.

I had this and was worse than yours by far after having 5 dc. Coupled with a low thyroid so no energy. Yet I don't have the pregnant bloat any more.

What did I do? Cut out wheat completely. Reduced dairy.

Eat lots of 'festival' food (so called as we ate lots of vegan/veg food at a festival which gave us loads of energy and filled us up!)so that is a any mixture of pearl barley, crushed linseed, split peas, red lentils etc cooked in a slow cooker with onion, aubergine, red cabbage, sultanas, cumin or caraway seeds. Make a big batch so I don't have to cook every day. Use a couple of spoonfuls of the cooked mixture in a hearty soup for lunch and then in the evening as a main with poached salmon/avocado/salad/roast chicken etc and a suitable sauce: chilli/mustard or dressing etc.

I aso take a probiotic every day, go for walks and do plank for 1 minute and side plank every morning and night. I no longer eat so much fruit but more cooked veg.

I no longer have any constipation, I'm slim and with bags of energy and I'm over 50 and thought I'd have a 9 month pregnant tummy for life until a few weeks ago when I overhauled my diet and introduced a bit of exercise.

The results have been truly dramatic.

Oh yes, and i used to avoid meal times but that actually made the bloating worse.
