Just that really?
It wad pretty much the first multi season series that I watched and I'm currently rewatching -for the one millionth time- and am really sad it's going to be over.
I know I'll watch it again in a few years time.
But nothing else has come close really has it?

Oh yes, BSG and Dollhouse were also great. I love Topha.

FishWithABicycle · 20/09/2015 17:53

Buffy is indeed excellent.
Firefly is even better but you'll be freaked out by seeing the guy who was Caleb in Buffy being one of the good guys (also the woman who was Jasmine in Angel being his second in command)

I think Game of Thrones is in the same league although I know it's not to everyone's taste. Battlestar Galactica. Life on Mars.

TheSpectator · 20/09/2015 17:57

YABU - I can think of hundreds of things better.

WhereYouLeftIt · 20/09/2015 18:06

Try 'Dollhouse', Faith from Buffy is the main character and it's an interesting idea. As has been already said, stick with it, the first few episodes are a bit fluffy, the main story arc kicks in a bit later (Whedon had intended a much longer run/arc, but they cancelled his show on him again Sad).

'Firefly' is great (also prematurely cancelled), and its explanatory movie 'Serenity'.

'Farscape' bears watching too.

trufflehunterthebadger · 20/09/2015 18:07

try Once Upon a Time on netflix. awesome and great female characters, both good and evil. good looking men, wonderful costumes. as a diehard buffy fan it's the only thing that has appealed to me as much. plus there is a kickarse female lead character (daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming) who is the saviour of their world. and robert carlysle is in it, mesmerizing as as Rumplestiltskin.

CombineBananaFister · 20/09/2015 18:08

YANBU - I think I felt grief when it finished Grin , like when you finish a book and know you're not going to see those characters again [sad-do emoticon]

Love Joss Whedon he completely changed things up, Hush was my favourite episode but also agree Dawn was a drainer. As others have said Firefly, Dollhouse, Battlestar and Veronica Mars are great. Even Dark Angel is good for an oldie.

Am strangely enjoying The Flash atm, despite some bad acting and ropey storylines. Got a touch of Whedon humour about it.

trufflehunterthebadger · 20/09/2015 18:08

i am about to commit Whedon heresy but......

i hated firefly/serenity, just couldn't get past Nathan Filian as Caleb

CombineBananaFister · 20/09/2015 18:10

Forgot about Once Upon A time, started watching it but peed off I can't get the next series. Damn you Netfix!

TheMotherOfHellbeasts · 20/09/2015 18:11

As others have said, YABVU. Firefly was amazing. Star Trek Voyager and Farscape are also up there.

Gileswithachainsaw · 20/09/2015 18:12

pointythings · 20/09/2015 18:18

I love Buffy - always have, still do - but there is a lot of great stuff out there. The remake of Battlestar Galactica was outstanding television, Dead Like Me was beautifully acted and incredibly human, Being Human was at least as good, Tru Calling and Dollhouse (both with the great Eliza Dushku) were also fab.

Ridingthegravytrain · 20/09/2015 18:22

I've just watched season one of izombie. That was good. Loved buffy. And angel to a lesser degree

trufflehunterthebadger · 20/09/2015 18:23
