To think I could be pregnant?!

I'm on the IUD and we use withdrawal (for what it's worth)

I haven't had a period in months (not unusual for me) a glass of wine is making me feel sick, I feel really tired but most prominent is my extremely sore boobs. I just caught a glance at my nipples and they're quite dark and swollen.

I did a test 2 days ago and it was negative!

:)
a standard tesco test worked for me at 5-6 weeks, I tested one-2 weeks after (admittedly clockwork) missed period, and got a true result.
The technology is pretty accurate these days. So yes , I think they work. But in my case I had no coil in, so I could afford to wait and see - and buy Tesco. You, I think you need to know sooner so you can get the coil gone if necessary.

I'm anti-early tests tbh. They pick up on such a tiny amount of FSH that chemical pregnancies show up which can obviously be devastating when a period appears a couple of days later. Sad Just speaking from experience.

It's honestly best to hold your nerve and wait a couple more days before testing again. Good luck. SmileFlowers

Oh but then you have a coil...oh gawd I don't know now. I'm no help!

I love pregnancy threads!!!!!! Grin

Test, test, test, test, TEST!!!!!!

ShiftyFades · 01/08/2015 23:52

Do you get these symptoms at any other times? I realised after I knew I was pg that my aching boobs were a big sign, I just put it down to hormones.
How exciting Smile

Eek I'm going to buy another test in a sec! Yes I get all those symptoms occasionally but never sore boobs!

Dh has helpfully told me my sore boobs are psychosomatic as littlest DS is starting school in sept!

I've bought a 2 pack of tests though as I'm not convinced!

Which tests are you using?

I found Tesco ones were quite good. I then used a first response when you had to tip my tesco test to the light to see anything and DH told me I was imagining things. The cross on the first response told him he was wrong and that was the day before my period was due, in a late afternoon wee.

My mum got pregnant twice with copper coil.....the GP told her 'lightning wouldn't strike twice' :-D
I used to always convince myself I was pregnant when I had a coil as I could never find the strings (they in fact got lost and had to be rooted out with a corkscrew type instrument!)
Hope you get the result you want Smile x

ShiftyFades · 02/08/2015 23:14

Do you think you'll wait a day or two and test again?

Hi

I have had the copper IUD Coil for 4 and half years, I’ve been with my partners 9 years. Two weeks ago I missed my period which has always been the same time each month and usually heavy. The last two months have been light periods then last month I missed it, at first I wasn’t too concerned because my previous ones were lighter than usual. I then just got a feeling that I could be pregnant along with symptoms of extremely sore nipples, full breasts, extreme tiredness and headaches for some reason I thought to take a test ( not actually thinking for a second i would be!). I took two clear blue digital tests both with a very clear positive pregnancy line! Me and my partner were considering starting a family in the next year or two after we return from our holiday in Florida September this year. my dream has always been to be a mother but to be honest it’s not the best time. I’ve just had to borrow money from family to pay off my debts and I have no savings I feel cruel bringing a child into this world if I struggle to give it a life it deserves but I could abort a child when it is all I ever have wanted. I rant my GP surgery and the doctor is ringing me back this afternoon hopefully to book an appointment. I am so scared as IUD pregnancy is high risk - what are the chances of miscarriage or eptopoc pregnancy? What is your experiences?
