To wonder at what age it becomes weird to show your midriff?

Mum and I (mum and me?) Damn dyslexia. Anyway, i went shopping with my mum today and she was pulling out all these tiny tops that would clearly show your belly off. I said I thought now I'm 30 it would look a bit....inappropriate, she looked at me like I had two heads At what age do we stop wearing crop tops?

What is meant by a crop top? I'm 27 and I occassionally wear crop tops with hight waisted jeans - they're more like loosish short tee-shirts and you can maybe see a cm or 2 of skin. I think I look nice.

I mean I wouldn't wear one to church but for wandering aroung town, why not?

Couldn't define a cut off, but they're not a good idea when you're at the stage in life where everything rides up over your wobbly belly and becomes a crop top unless you're paying attention.

I have seen plenty of people who think my cut off is slightly conservative, though.

Any age with high waisted bottoms. But with anything else then i wouldn't over 17/18, It's childrens clothing in my eyes

Well, I agree with you OP. I think 30s is too old for cropped tops. I think anyone over about 9 or 10 might look a little silly in one!

I don't think 30s is too old. I do think crop tops look best over smooth, toned midriffs: I don't possess one of these and never have, so have never worn a crop top.

Size 6-8 through exercise so in ok shape...

I wear cropped tops only with high waisted skirts so there's an inch or two on shoe not entire belly. Waaaaaay past my belly brandishing days.

I would wear a bikini but not a crop top, but crop tops never suited me even in svelter pre-kids days when I had a 24" waist and flat stomach. Due to big tits and big hips they always hung badly and just didn't suit my body shape,

Wear whatever you want to, honestly, age is but a number, as long as you are happy and feel good, do it.

I don't like to see belly button anywhere but the beach or poolside at any age.
Otherwise, a sliver of skin for as long as you feel comfortable!

I think they look fine with high wasted bottoms so it's just an inch if skin but naval out, belly barring is for the very young. Very slim only.

That's just my opinion though.

I'm 27 and I put one on today (white and blue striped, long sleeves) under some black full length dungarees I just got (now there's another divisive one... ).

Then I took the crop top off and swapped it for a t-shirt. Partly because I thought I'd be a bit chilly, partly because I didn't think I could quite pull it off.

It would have been a lot easier for feeding DD though...

Honestly I dont care either way. Its up to the individual how comfortable they are in what they wear. Id feel uncomfortable in either a crop top or a top far too big and baggy for me. Its just that people have given their opinions and apart from a small percentage of those saying no there is no indication of how big or small the previous posters are.

I think if she needed to change what she wore to attract these men, she was probably better off without them.

I'm 43 and where crop tops if and when I want to. I find on the rare hot days we have they're great because I'm fair skinned and don't want to expose my shoulders for fear of burning but do want to stay cool. I admit I've stopped wearing them for work, because of the place that I work. But I've got a nice, toned midriff and I'm happy in crop tops.

I personally think Jennifer Lopez can pull off a crop top very well and she's 46. She looks better in one at 46 than I would've at 16.

I think full under boob to knicker line exposed doesn't look great past about 14

You're never going to be younger than you are today so ignore the begrudgers and wear what you want. Don't waste a single minute wondering what the appropriate police think or you'll miss out on everything.
