To think that the nasty posters seem to store it up

I know there's been a few of these types of threads lately but this has recently occured to me. Some of the more aggressive nasty posts seem to come when the thread is very near its natural end. They havent contributed right through the thread and then you just think, wow where did that come from. Like they've been storing it up. Anyone else notice this?

OP posts:
thornrose · 29/07/2015 13:15

I can't say I've noticed that to be honest.

ArmySal · 29/07/2015 13:17

Maybe they have been reading the entire thread, and only felt compelled to weigh in at the end?
I'd wager that most of the gobby ones on here wouldn't say boo to a goose IRL.

suchafuss · 29/07/2015 13:18

I have noticed it, think as a society we are increasingly thinking that it is OK to publically shame people. Hate it.

SchwarzwalderKirschtorte · 29/07/2015 13:18

School holidays?

WorraLiberty · 29/07/2015 13:20

I haven't noticed that.

I've noticed a few posters who seem to crash into a thread like a demolition ball and kind of take it over, but they seem to do it after a few posts.

onedayiwillmissthis · 29/07/2015 13:22

perhaps they have been carefully reading all posts...but been nervous about posting themselves...unless you are a familiar 'name' things can get a bit tough sometimesHmm

perhaps in the end tho'...you just get to a point where you think 'sod it' my view is as valid as any other...and just jump right inGrin

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 29/07/2015 13:23

I haven't noticed tbh.

TiredButFine · 29/07/2015 13:41

Quite often notice the first few posts being somewhere between extremely harsh and deliberately outraged. I assume these people have stored it up from some shit going on in their life

Prelude · 29/07/2015 13:46

I believe the term for this is a bitch plop.

Nabuma · 29/07/2015 13:53

Bitch plop I an awesome term. I started a thread recently and was genuinely looking for advice as to how I could have handled things better. A poster gave an opinion with kind of anecdotal evidence and so I responded directly to her asking for more advice. I'm guessing my tone came across as sarcastic or patronising (not intended) and I got a massively over the top hysterical response back. There's really no need for such vitriol. I couldn't resist looking her up to try and work out why the response was so extreme and realised that she's quite an impassioned character. Takes all folk, I guess. But it has kind of made me think twice about directly referring to other posters in threads...

Nabuma · 29/07/2015 13:53

*is an obvs!

Nabuma · 29/07/2015 13:55

Oh and also loads of people putting their two cents in without rtft or deliberately ignoring the op's concessions/extra information just to obtuse and outraged. That's so annoying and I see it all the time on threads. It's like a dm mentality or summat.

BallsforEarrings · 29/07/2015 14:26

Yes Nabuma I hate when posters ignore the OPs real posts and then make up a character for them and then pretend what the OP said does fit their villainous but ficticious character's profile, maybe because they know someone rather like the character they invented and would like to vent at them so do so vicariously to the OP.

LittleLionMansMummy · 29/07/2015 14:34

I'm guilty of throwing in a curve ball or two just to see what I get back. But I try to do it in a nice way. However nothing prepared me for a reply to me on another thread that pretty much said "Don't you dare say that - I find your comments disgusting!" Which I thought was a little over the top seeing as how I was trying to redress the balance of the discussion which had become unnecessarily racist.... Almost like they'd been storing it up in fact!
