Am I being Unreasonable to drag my poor kids on a caravan holiday...

in Scotland in April? Are they going to freeze to death?

I am thinking of Haven in April Half term so mid April. It is my '0' birthday and I want to be somewhere doing something nice. But am I crazy to be considering this?

I go to haven every April , have great weather and the caravan is nicer than my house . We spend all day on beach or out walking the Dorset coast . Bliss

We will be going by train so taking a heater is not going to be practical but I think they gave heaters in anyway.

Any problems with heating, Argos do a 2kg heater/fan for £9.99 (value range)

I had to buy one when my boiler broke at 3.30 am and the man couldn't get to me for 15 hours. It's enough to keep the whole lounge/diner warm.

Bit chilly in April in Scotland for a caravan.Have stayed in a caravan at Easter in Dorset and our faces were freezing on waking but I suppose it depends on the heating. Some new lodges are very warm. Or how about a cottage with real fire in Scotland? Sometimes not always more expensive than a caravan.

Def not crazy though. In my experience the chn just get on with it esp if NOT teenagers. I like the idea of an electric blanket.

Go for it. I'm in Scotland and have done caravan holidays at all different times of the year for the past 15 years. Theres always plenty to do on Haven sites especially at Crag Tara. As pp have said always make sure caravan has heating, and by that I mean go for the ones with central heating and not the ones that say heating in bedrooms as this normally means a fan or panel heater in the bedrooms and they often take forever to heat up. We're just back from a Haven site and planning on booking one again for October.

I couldn't cope with a real fire and my youngest ds. God I am having palpitations thinking about it.

I think you can actually hire Extra heaters for £4 a week come to think of it.

Kids will be 10, 8 and 3 so god ages for getting stuck in

IT'S BOOKED!

I am super excited! Craig Tara looks like there is so much to do and with a bit of luck it will be nice weather. If not we will pack our waterproofs.
