To be disappointed in Easyjets flight times?

I know I am I just need a rant I know Easyjet can arrange their flight times whenever they want I'm just rather annoyed .

Anyway a couple years ago dh dd and I went to Disneyland Paris for 3 nights . Our flight going was 8am and coming home was 10pm so got 4 full days which was great .

I'm looking into going back next year now that we have another DC and one on the way . I've been looking into prices as we would need a lot of budgeting and saving up for the next year .

However , Easyjet have changes their flight times and they are really awful now . The are basically opposite what they were so flying out late at night then flying home early morning .

This means paying for 3 nights will only get us 2 days . That's about £2k just for 2 days !! That's so expensive and nowhere near worth the money . We could maybe afford 4 nights but really unfair when your effectively losing 2 full days of your holiday . I actually feel like complaining but I know I'll get laughed at and its not like it will achieve anything although it might make me feel better

I'm so disappointed I really want to take the dcs on holiday next year but hate beach holidays and city breaks not exactly ideal for wee ones Sad

That's probably it Fish . I was just surprised we couldn't get the same flights and they only do one flight a day . I'll look into flying to London City . Is the Eurostar near there ?

Just been having a play around and it looks like there are morning flights from Glasgow to Paris at 09:55 and return at 14:15, so not that bad.

Where are you getting them LIZS ?

We are looking at July next year so the flights aren't released yet so been looking at July and August this year then March next year to work out a rough price . Think we are looking at £600-800 by the look of it .

Flights don't exist just for your holiday you know Hmm

Business, cargo... As pp have said, why not look at a different airline? Jeez......

Rainicorn · 26/07/2015 19:53

Have you looked from Newcastle? There is usually a really early one going there.

LIZS · 26/07/2015 19:54

Off the website for me March next year

Mistigri · 26/07/2015 19:54

Easyjet probably have limited choice re slots and obviously they will where possible choose the times that best suit their most profitable passengers (regular/ business travellers).

Can't say I am a massive fan of easyjet (Ryanair way more punctual in my experience) but they do a convenient late evening/ early morning slot Toulouse to London so I do use them sometimes. I think they often time the flights to French cities based on business demand as business users make the route profitable.

Pileofstuffatthebottomofthesta · 26/07/2015 19:57

Try city hop from edinburgh. They operate the air France regional. I think I recsll it being cheaper through them than AF. (Wasn't me but someone I knew so don't quote me) this year it's a red eye to Paris and return about 8pm in evening.

YANBU i understand, having been in the same situation. We usually go every year but this year the flight times aren't worth it. Also its not just as easy as look for another airline/way to go especially if you live in a very remote area or the airports don't offer a great choice. Yes it can cost 2K easily but it can be cheaper. Just like any holiday.

Some of the daytime flights still leave it to late to enjoy the park and your effectively loosing a day. Some people should try going to Disney before they comment.

Camel I love you GrinGrin

That's the perfect and getting there so early I wouldn't even mind too much if the flight home was an early one !

We're off to Disneyland for Christmas and have booked with Air France purely for their times.

mayaknew · 26/07/2015 20:24

Yoga I know it's not easy especially in Scotland we are limited or have to travel a fair distance but when you are in London with a choice of millions of airports, airlines and destinations I suppose you wouldn't really think things like this would be a problem so it's understandable . Especially when they have Eurostar on their doorstep too .

I suppose it's my own fault for not saying I'm in Scotland in my OP . And posting in AIBU GrinGrin I'm sure it will all work out in the end Smile

Where do you usually fly from yoga ?

It's costing a pretty penny but is a special trip for us. It's DSs birthday while we're there but he was a much longed for IVF baby and we always said we would save Disney for if we were lucky enough for a child to ever came along!!

riverboat1 · 26/07/2015 21:03

The flight times may not be good for you, but they're great for people like me who live and work in Paris and want to catch an after-work flight back to the UK. From my experience flying easyjet flights Paris-UK, a lot of passengers are on business trips.
