To knock on neighbours door at 9am?

They were having a party, mostly on their doorstep Hmm and making noise till I finally snapped and told them to go inside at 4.30 am. Dds were woken.

Wibu to knock on their door at 9am and have a polite discussion about acceptable Boise levels at night?

I wouldnt bang on the door now, or use the strimmer.

They are obviously selfish, and thick idiots. They will use the fact you woke them up at 9 on a Sunday morning, to argue that you are also a noisy neighbour.

I'd wait until this afternoon to go round and tell them that they need to show consideration, and if they have such a late party again, you will phone the police.

Can you send the kids out with instructions to play very loudly and as near as possible to their bedroom windows?

I'm taking what bake said into consideration and haven't done anything yet. It is wet outside too, which would hamper any strumming efforts.

Dd2 is only a little baby so the most she could do is squeal, though she is pretty good at that. Dd1 can be pretty noisy.

Wait till the afternoon then go and have a sensible discussion.

I would agree with Bake too. Except the part warning then you'll ring the police next time. That's just asking for trouble. If the police are ever called in the future ,these "delightful" neighbours will guess to was you and blame you. Whether it was you or not. I would call over to them alright but wouldn't mention the police, but secretly ring them the next time a party happens .

So many typos, flipping phone

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 19/07/2015 12:47

Well it is certainly nowhere near ad unreasonable as 4am so no YNBU.

Is there not some urgent DIY requiring a hammer and drill needed then a Hoover right next to there bedrooms...look how dirty that bit of carpet right next to their bedroom is!

MissDemelzaCarne · 19/07/2015 12:52

I like the idea of knocking and running. Wink
