It does not look nice at all, it looks ridiculous WTF is it even about! Confused

OP posts:

It's very annoying.

PHANTOMnamechanger · 18/07/2015 12:13

surely 'naice' is just a way of showing that 'nice' is being said in a Hyacinth Bucket posh-voice.....likewise 'hice' instead of house etc

I like all the slang and in words on here. It's like families have their own little in jokes and pet words for stuff. It's not compulsory though so if you don't like it just don't use it. Simples Wink

I'll have all the biscuits. Im trying to lose weight so a few MN biscuits might just ease my cravings without the calories Grin

Can anyone tell me how "naice" is supposed to be pronounced?! Is the "nai" bit meanted to be pronounced like the "nai" bit in "naive"?!!

bigbumtheory · 18/07/2015 13:21

YANBU. Mainly because I dislike the look of the word when written like that.

Ledare · 18/07/2015 18:26

Nayce.

And yes, the lower-middle aspiring types in Jilly Cooper say it.

Ledare · 18/07/2015 18:28

Just seen PHANTOM's post. The aristos in JC say "hice" but that's a bit different. Jilly once said it's like mouse and mice. They say "hice" because they have more than one of them Grin
