and you decide they're just a nasty person not worth bothering about, and then on another thread you start getting on famously with them and love their sense of humour and start wondering if they had good reason to be an arse before.

If someone is horrible on RL you distance yourself from them. Same on here. If you don't want to hear their yawnsome views don't go on threads where they are bound to turn up. I often think hide thread is an underused function.

That annoys me too oneflew. I get too cross about seeing someone deliberately winding people up so now if I see certain names that stick in my mind, I scroll past. Sometimes I'll be reading a post and be like "what a dick... oh it's them". I suppose it's an outlet for all their rage.
