I know I'm not really, just a not so stealth boast.

I've escaped for a whole night. I'm currently in a hotel, alone, wine in cooler, room service on tap. There is even a spa but am proberly too lazy to bother

Good for you. Many mothers are total martyr's and make their whole life revolve around their children. I think this is wrong.

Today dd had a pamper party for her birthday. 7 11 year olds and 19 month old ds. Plus my mam and my auntie doing the pampering. Followed by tapas. It was lovely but chaos.

Ds is now in bed as is dp but one of the girls has wangled her way into having a sleepover so am sat mning while the girls watch some tweenage shite on the tv.

I am ridiculously excited about going to see duran duran in November though. Not because I am a particular fan but because my mum is having the dcs and me and dp get to stay in a hotel. Will be the first child free night in almost 2 years.

Today I dropped DP and nearly 4yo DS at the train station then went home and tidied every piece of Lego away. Into a box where it will stay until Wednesday. Tonight I will go for a drink with colleagues after work and I may just do the same tomorrow. DP also returns tomorrow so I can look forward to 2 whole days with lie-ins, uninterrupted conversations and sensible mealtimes. Glorious!

I've had the weekend to myself, DH took both boys away to his parents.

It has been bliss, but I cannot wait to see them tomorrow
