To offer builders tea?

They are here for a couple hours fitting a door. I never usually offer because I only drink soya milk, have no sugar or orange juice. I'm very basic lol
Should I offer still or no?

Oh, give over. People assume things about other people's tastes all the time. There's no need to take everything personally. I don't give a toss whose builder husband loves soya milk organic vegan mochaccinos - bully for him!

Big chips on shoulders around here, methinks.

MehsMum · 08/07/2015 15:29

I think most people would rather dodge the soya milk, tbh.

My SIL takes the piss out of me for offering tradesmen a choice. Tea or coffee or a cold drink? If tea, PG Tips or Earl Grey?
'You offer builders Earl Grey? Hahahaha.'
She'd be amazed by the number who prefer it. One even has it with lemon.

Homemade cake always goes down well if I have any in stock, which I often do as the DDs bake. 'Tell that girl of yours' - past a mouthful - 'that this brownie/sponge/biscuit is bloody lovely and I hope she can make something else for tomorrow!'

I'd never not offer, ive ad up to 4 guys working in my house on and off for couple of months and fortunately for my poor memory, it's been milk and 2 all round. I offer them when they start in the morning, mid morning, lunchtime amd mid-late afternoon. The biscuit tin goes on the tray, and on the occasions when they've worked on Saturdays, the bacon rolls have gone down very well.
I totally agree with looking after your workmen and they'll look after you-the current bunch are very much proving that!

If I've got workmen in then I always make sure I've got milk and biscuits in for a cuppa - unless they're on a small job on an hourly rate then I just let them get on with it.

Why would anyone have a chip on their shoulder about soya milk?! Grin that did make me smile!

Sparklingbrook · 08/07/2015 16:17

If I am having a man in I always lay on a selection of stuff. Grin

I had builders in for about 6 months. Roughly 3 cups spread out over the day and most took 2 sugars. Occasional bacon sandwich and Mr Kiplings went down really well.

If I knew someone was coming to the house I'd get in normal milk. But if they were only coming for a couple of hours I probably wouldn't buy biscuits.
