Am I going to die of sugar poisoning.....? Confused. I feel really quite sick

I'm usually fairly sensible (or try to be re: sweet things) so I don't know what came over me.

I'm 21 weeks pregnant so hope the baby isn't in a sugar coma!

I can do six in a row.

Proud.

I would actually be proud at my self restraint to stop at 2. sigh...

Rainicorn · 07/07/2015 16:19

I don't like KK donuts, I really wanted to, but they're far too sickly sweet, it feels like my teeth are melting from the sugar when I ate one last.

LegoComplex · 07/07/2015 16:20

yanbu. that is all.

AlfieandAnnieRose · 07/07/2015 16:20

A drive thru you say?! Wow I would need a will of steel to keep away from that! My favourite are the chocolate dreamcake mmm.
Oh and did you know they are bringing back the Reeses peanut butter flavour one back permanently...

I've still to be convinced about these; I don't think they're all that tbh.

It's not the sugar, it's the taste of the grease they were cooked in that I don't like the taste of. At first I thought it was because they were Tescos and of indeterminate age but they've been the same from a KK store. They claim they're freshly baked but I have never smelled them cooking on the premises.

ifgrandmahadawilly · 07/07/2015 16:35

YANBU.

I like the idea of a doughnut chaser.

Lovinglife45 · 07/07/2015 16:38

Krispy Kremes are so sweet and I have a sweet tooth!

InQuiteAPickle · 07/07/2015 16:41

I'm not a massive fan of Krispy Kreme either, I much prefer a dirty doughnut from a street cart or fairground.

I'll eat one if it's on offer - heck, it's cake and I'm not completely stupid! Grin

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 07/07/2015 16:43

Member - at this drive thru that I will never be frequenting again you can watch all the donuts being made and then watch them in the oven and coming out. Very interesting

My teeth do feel oddly coated in something though...I'm off to brush them now my enamel had stopped melting....

AnotherGirlsParadise · 07/07/2015 16:45

I love the smell of them, but fuck me the taste just screams 'chemical shitstorm' to me - they're almost perfumey!

Maybe that's their next marketing strategy, Eau de Krispy Kreme Grin

InQuiteAPickle · 07/07/2015 16:45

Pre DD1 I was stick thin and a size 8. Pregnancy gave me a sweet tooth that I never had before and haven't been able to get rid of. Hence I am no longer a size 8 Sad.

mrsdavidbowie · 07/07/2015 16:46

I've never had one. But they smell nasty.

woolymum · 07/07/2015 16:48

op your post is offensive.
this was stealth donut owning bragging. you need to go and get some donuts to share with us Wink

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 07/07/2015 16:50

I am soon to have 3DC's in 3 years.....I really do not need to develop a KK habit

I think I've just seen the beginning of a stretch mark which I am sure was not there pre binge

Skeppers · 07/07/2015 16:51

Only 2? Amateur.

Notso · 07/07/2015 16:53

I love Krispy Kreme they are good in a nasty kind of way. Like those cheap bacon streaks crisp things

SistersofPercy · 07/07/2015 16:55

DH came home from a business trip the other night with a box of Dunkin Donuts for me. Didn't even realise they were in the UK.
He's amazing [grin}

member · 07/07/2015 16:58

Hmm, I bet Drive Thrus are mini KK factories that distribute to stores within a certain radius or something; I'd have more faith in eating one from there than my local store which has absolutely nothing to indicate any form of food prep occurs within it's walls.

And, I hate how they don't do half dozen boxes!

Elsashmelsa · 07/07/2015 16:59

I've never had a KK and I don't even know where they sell them down here in deepest darkest South Devon Sad. I feel like I'm really missing out...

WhyTheDrama · 07/07/2015 17:00

Coincidently I have just had a salted caramel cheesecake krispie Kreme.
I havent had a donut since before Xmas.

I just had the one with an Americano coffee. It was a ridiculously delicious combination. I'm careful with my diet so if I have a treat I want it to be a good one and that donut was GOOOOOOOOOOD

If it wasn't for the calories I could happily eat another few

CakeNinja · 07/07/2015 17:05

I used to have a friend who I used to drive with to tesco and we would eat 2 Krispy kremes followed by a malteser bunny! How we weren't ill an enormous I don't know.
I see them in tescos now and wouldn't touch them as I'd have demolish 2 not just 1.
My fabourites are raspberry jam glazed, original glazed (how can the most boring donut, the ring donut, possibly taste so good?) and chocolate covered Kreme filled. Yum yum.

NotQuitePerfect · 07/07/2015 17:06

Had the best doughnuts ever at the weekend - 4 for £1.50 on Bridlington sea front, the first of the day to be fried. I cannot explain how utterly delicious they were. DH & DD came to blows over the last one Grin

RigglinJigglin · 07/07/2015 17:29

The drive thru at TC is awesome, when it first opened if you went in you got free hot donuts.....

DH and I ate a xmas dozen once upon a Friday evening. Best. Night. Ever.
