To spend £700 on a liquid facelift?

I am in the process of sorting out myself after putting everything except myself first. I will be 50 in a few months. Basically I am in process of losing weight and toning up. Skin not too bad as never smoked or been a sun worshiper and have always taken care of skin.

However my cheeks have lost volume and I have hollows under eyes. Cheek fillers and tear troughs will sort this out but the cost is about £700.

I always feel guilty about spending money on myself so feel so conflicted. Has anyone had good results with cheek or tear trough fillers?

I am an aesthetic nurse and carry out these procedures, the liquid face lift is good, but subtle and your results realistically are. Gonna last about 6-12 months, if your brave enough go for surgery will last 10 years, initial out lay obviously more but will save me money in the long run

Bran, each filler has varying life pan depending on its chemical make up, some can last 2 months, some can 2 years.

its not for me, but if it makes you feel good then go for it - be 100% sure first though, is it reversible if you don't like it?

Yes. I'm very happy and would recommend the one I had but I'm sorry but the name of the procedure has slipped my mind.

I could find out next week if you wanted.

I spend more than that. About £1,500 for three treatments over about three months. You can have two but guess what? I needed three.

Injections in my temples and cheekbones. More in one than the other because it had a pronounced tear trough and it was more deflated.

Nothing under eyes.

Not that painful with anaesthetic cream. Some bruising but not that bad. The results last on me about 18 months to two years.

It also lifts your jowls a bit.

botoxbitch i did try fillers once and i thought they were bad value. I thought botox was much more effective which i was surprised at but i even went back to the doctor who did my fillers because once the swelling went down i still had quite visible lines.

I honestly wouldnt spend that much money on something so temporary that it will be reabsorbed by your body before xmas.

Do cheek fillers lift the face a bit and tear troughs make a difference to hollows under eyes? I didn't think that facelift replace volume. Do they?

I don't have wrinkles or jowls just see the difference if the cheeks are slightly lifted and guess tear troughs may be necessary if cheek lift does not sort out the hollows enough.

Also do you think I should lose any excess weight before having fillers done or does it not make much of a difference. I have high cheek bones if that makes a difference and even with excess weight there is still a loss of cheek volume. Or does excess facial fat below cheeks pull down the face?

Ghost very difficult to give advice when I can't see your face.... Your best bet is going for a consultation, if you let me know your area I can search in BACN and find you some reputable.
A face lift doesn't sort the volume out but often surgeons will do abit of fat transfer whilst they have you under. X

I have had lip fillers many times. The best tip for fillers I can give is to bring the person you're seeing an old photo of you with the volume you want to achieve. That can give a clear idea of what you want and what looks natural for you.

I was 50 this year. I spent the last 12 months losing 4 stone. It has changed my face. More wrinkles etc.
It might be worth waiting until you have achieved the weightloss, so that any work is done on your "new" face.

a) don't feel guilty about spending money on yourself.
b) how about investing in some self-esteem rather than the opposite? The filler will wear out, or some other aspect of your face will change...then you'll be back to square one.

Your value to the people who matter is not in how you look.
