To want a bra that fits.

Used the bra guru site. 30 under bust, 36 hanging. That makes me 30E right?

Went to 2 shopping malls and countless shops and not a single bra in that size. 4 hours and very pissed off I gave up and came home.

Where do I get one?

I have found that in general the supermarkets only stock the DD+ sizes starting from 34 band size
Sp no good for a lot of us.

I am now a 32E and certainly not busty. But I ended up with a 34 D as I was in dire need of a nude bra that day.

Debenhams is good for a good range of styles and sizes.

I should, Statistically, but I live in the sticks, so internet shopping it is, until I'm in the 'big town'! Wink

PigeonsAreFriends · 05/07/2015 22:04

I have a wide bust but not full, so in terms of volume I am probably only a C cup. However, with a back size 30 (I could get away with a 28) the bones cut into breast tissue with anything less than an E Therefore, I have to get an E to sit far enough past the breast but have half empty cups.

My breasts are also close together, so a balcony or a high centre section cuts in too.

I also have protruding ribs so the bones get pushed out and lift slightly off the breast.

I am, indeed, a joy to behold..........

When you say you're lacking volume - is it that they're wide bit quite shallow (fairly normal combination, I promise!) or is it that they're bottom heavy so the upper cup tends to gape?

PigeonsAreFriends · 05/07/2015 22:24

Bottom heavy!

Dowser · 05/07/2015 22:28

I tried a 36 E in a camisole bra today, while it wasn't too un comfortable there was a bit of spillage out the sides. So maybe a 36 F might have done the trick but they didn't have one.

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/07/2015 22:38

Normally, for bottom heavy then bras which are proper balconettes are good - they don't have much fabric at the top so they don't gape to easily. Being close set does make it a bit trickier - I'm really close set myself and tbh I've trained myself a bit to tolerate taller central gores as otherwise I could barely find a bra which would fit. I did find though that I can either wear incredibly low, or relatively tall so they come past the point where the end of the wire would poke in to breast tissue, if that makes sense.

Normally for wide, shallow and bottom heavy I'd be looking at the Freya Patsy half cup (and sister styles), the Cleo Lucy, Cleo Maddie, possibly Cleo Juna, Curvy Kate Tease me/Throll me/fleurty, bravissimo half cups like the mademoiselle or demi diva...if you really can't tolerate any of the taller gores then something like the Curvy Kate Roxie or Temptress, or the Bravissimo Satine could be worth a try - they might gape at the top but they're plunges which are wide and shallow. .

This thread has finally persuaded me to buy some bras that will fit! I'm a 34G and finally stocking up on non-nursing bras! ive been wearing the same 6 God-awful nursing bras for 3 years over 2 pregnancies and none of them fit in desperation I bought a 36g from adds the other day because I miss tshirt bras, but it's plunge and gapes. I'm bottom heavy and wide set so have ordered 2 from bra stop that will hopefully make me feel feminine and less mummy again!

I still feed DD at bedtime, but I can't cope without underwire anymore!!

was fitted for next size up bra, looked good but wore today and can feel the wires digging in my armpits, never had this before. also the straps slip down my shoulders, it is fine across the back and it gives me a good look.

hoping it will be better after washing

Peshwari · 06/07/2015 19:39

No, not unreasonable at all. Even the experts can't get it right either. I had the fit checked on a bra in Bravissimo, thinking it was a bit on the large side. They hoiked the straps tight and pronounced it fit but after a day of wearing it the back ends up 3 inches higher up my back than it should be. So 30 quid down the drain Sad

FoofItHigh · 13/07/2015 11:20

They arrived and they fit Grin

any advice on a sports bra. Should you have the same back size or size up. They are so expensive. Would I get away from M&S?

Ashwinder · 13/07/2015 11:36

Bravissimo are fab.

I went bra shopping this weekend. The assistant in M&S measured me and decided I was a 38D. She brought me a selection of bras to try on. They all looked fucking awful and felt worse. She tried to tell me they were 'a really nice fit'. Hmm I left without buying any and went to Bravissimo. The assistant there was brilliant. I tried on over a dozen bras in different sizes and found one that looks amazing. It is a 32FF. I bought it in 3 colours. Grin

For some reason, there is this public perception that any woman over a D cup is very large breasted. I'm really not. If anything, I would decribe myself as fairly modestly endowed.

Ashwinder · 13/07/2015 11:37

Peshwari take your bra back to Bravissimo. If they have fitted you incorrectly they will refund.
