I also hear the gobby ndn DC until after ten on school nights while trying to calm DS who is autistic and can't understand why younger children are up screaming on the fucking thing at that time.

I might start letting him be as loud as he wants in the early hours when the parents have to be up for work the next day

Dangerous. People we know have them with a broken zip, on concrete, let loads of DC on them at once, usually unsupervised. Makes me unhappy about my DC playing at some houses unsupervised, but to say anything means seeming over anxious.

They are a good indicator of what kind of NDN is moving in though....

Neighbour, young bloke has not long had new partner and baby move in. He has a son from a previous relationship that stays every weekend. GF has been de-bachelorising the house and has had an area of decking put in the garden against our shared fence. It's about 2ft off the ground (4 steps up to it) which is a bit unnecessary but she's put pots and chairs on it for them to sit out there. Lovely. No problem. The houses are not in line so all houses have privacy etc.

He's bought the eldest a trampoline and sited it in the far corner of the decking. The bouncy bit is literally about a foot below the top of the fence. Kid now spends most of the weekend bouncing up and tormenting DD who now wants one too. Back of our house is mostly glass so now they can see into every room. Neighbour is now on the trampoline with the kid and I'm still in PJs feeling exposed. Fuckers.

Start walking around naked, and wave at them when they look in, they might move it.

YANBU. We have high fences but no privacy because next door's grandchildren (and seemingly all of their friends) are always on the trampoline. It's right against the fence and they don't even bounce half the time, they just lean over the fence to look into our garden and annoy talk to our dog.

Got all the patio doors and windows open. Tempted to stick on some extremely offensive gangsta rap and turn the sound system up to 11.

The sunken ones look more suitable for neighbourly relations and probably less dangerous. The normal ones are really antisocial and should come with a large tax that goes straight to the NHS.

I don't think she'll be able to see into the neighbour's houses from it, though.

Oh dear had no idea they were so problematic...I still want one! (For the kids..)

We have a sunken one that is at the far end of the garden with no houses on the back but we have one neighbour with a jumping teenager that jumps for hours and the other neighbour has put theirs right outside the back door and right upto fence the kids are toddlers though so although they can see right into house they are too cute to get angry about.

My cousin bought an all singing and dancing enormous one 4 years ago, they asked my DDad to put it up as he was the only one they trusted to do it right, he refused as it was antisocial and as a paramedic hek saw the bad side of them, last week they asked DP to put it up he is also a paramedic and refused. Same reasons as DDad. It turns out the DC could not careless about the trampoline it was the adults who wanted it for drunken bbq's

Hate them. I hate the way they invade other people's privacy. They should be banned!

Large party being set up next door, so all my windows and doors will be shut this evening as their trampoline is two feet away from my French windows, and all the adults will be on it and shouting. No dinner in the garden for us tonight.

We've got one - safety net, strict rules about who gets to go on it. Our DDs definitely do not go on it and screech until all hours of the night, nor do we ever play loud music outdoors (though we do have non-trampolined neighbours who do...).

I'd ban them from domestic gardens myself. Seem to cause a lot of accidents as well. I mean for the kids, not adults accidentally bashing their heads against the walls or anything.

The biggest problem with trampolines is the parents do not have the intrusion and if the neighbours are polite they have no idea just how their children impact garden life. Some people like 2ft high fences and use the garden to chat with neighbours whereas some people like 5ft plus fence and value privacy.

We have one, 2 of my DC have ASD and ADHD. Bouncing helps them burn off some excess energy (they certainly have lots of it!) We don't have loud music or noisy smelly bbqs.

I don't think the neighbours mind seeing as their kids use it as well! (Not at the same time as ours.)

No injuries so far, touch wood. Which is actually quite surprising as one of my DCs is very accident prone!
