To ride my bike with toddler in baby carrier

I'm umming and aahing about this.

I tried to get a proper child seat for my bike as I want to ride with my near 2yo to the shops or get the train and go on adventures. But as my bike has suspension it turns out I can't get one that fits.

WIBU to put him in his baby carrier (with helmet) and ride like that? Apparently it's common in the Netherlands but I've never seen anyone in the uk do it.

Fwiw I'm a competent cycler and would stick to cycle paths, quiet roads.

Thank you.

For goodness sakes no, don't do it

If you enjoy cycling, then you are going to want to do it with your kid. Get a decent new bike that can take a seat. You can have more than one bike, and very often it makes sense to.

I have suspension on my bike and I have a toddler/infant seat.

FWIW yes they do do this in The Netherlands but their roads are also way more equipped to deal with cyclists and other orad users are much more aware of cyclists.

Personally there is no way I could cycle with my 18month old in his baby carrier way to uncomfortable and sweaty.
