Everytime I turn on the TV there is another massive beard staring at me.

AIU to find them both gross and a bit of a turn on, rolled into one?

I meant snoz sorry Blueberry I agree with you!

loveliesbleeding1 · 02/07/2015 13:46

Hate beards, love stubble.

isupposeitsverynice · 02/07/2015 13:52

I dated a beardy little hipster type very briefly and his beard always seemed to have a faint whiff of vomit about it. I suspected he might have been bulimic, he was very clean generally. It's really put me off facial hair.

My dh is bald and would like weird with a beard, he's never had more than a day's worth of stubble since I met him! Very curious to know what he'd look/feel like though Wink

Massive beard or so-called trendy beard akin to the kings who were all cousin's in WWI - I don't really like.

A goodly amount of stubble, or a short trimmed beard - very nice thank you.

MyBeloved · 02/07/2015 15:31

beards are horrible and I am hatingbthe hipster beard trend.

MissShunImpossible · 02/07/2015 15:38

DH grew a beard, none of us (as in me and the DDs) were at all sure about it, but got used to it.

Then he shaved it off, and it was AWFUL! I was willing time to pass to let it all grow back. He looks so much better with it. Even looking back at old photos, he looks bizarre with all that .... face.

Songofsixpence · 02/07/2015 15:43

YABU

I love a beard, or at least a bit of stubble.

But a proper beard, no goatee/moustache nonsense.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 02/07/2015 15:45

Ooh I love a beard I do, my DP routinely leaves himself a goatee for a few minutes while having a shave, just to taunt me. He knows it gives him special powers so he says he's saving it for when he needs me on side! Last time he kept it for a couple of days and I could barely talk to him, I was all giggly like a giddy teenager.

I prefer a goatee to a full on beard though (especially as DBro has a full beard so it seems weird to find that sexually alluring!)

I like that DP is too lazy to shave regularly alternates between clean shaven and beardy, it's like having two different boyfriends.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 02/07/2015 15:47

isuppose I think that the vom smell was probably just remnants of milk/butter/cream etc round his mouth - I can tell if DP has eaten something dairy in the past hour or so by the smell of his face!

bikeandrun · 02/07/2015 15:50

Good job we are all different, my dh looks good without a beard is irresistible with one! Only have to worry about approximately 50% of mnetters ogling him!!Wink

sparkysparkysparky · 02/07/2015 15:55

Have been toying with idea of starting a thread on this for ages. Beards, particularly on men in their 20s, look stupid to me. And unhygienic. Perhaps because I am a child of the 70s when beards were stupid and unhygienic.
If you like 'em, fair enough. Whatever works for you.
Just seems like an exercise in "look, ladeez, I have enough man hormones to grow a beard".Grin

isupposeitsverynice · 02/07/2015 16:14

Mark he was a vegan! It was very faint but definitely there, ya know? [vom]

Mulligrubs · 02/07/2015 16:34

My OH has a beard, not like a Santa beard or anything but he lets it grow a couple of weeks. I love it on him, he looks so sexy and rugged weirdly, I don't usually find beards attractive on men, just my OH.

Some people think they're unhygienic, they're really not! OH scrubs his with shampoo once a day at least and I have never seen anything like food in it so I don't know why people think that Confused

bertsdinner · 02/07/2015 21:14

Not a beard lover, I prefer clean shaven men. However, there is a guy at work who has a full beard, though a short one, and I find him very attractive
I cant imagine him minus the beard.
I don't like mustaches though

msgrinch · 02/07/2015 23:05

They're disgusting! I've seen really good looking men now turned into unkempt looking states. It's such a shame, once the trends over they'll cringe at the pictures. Any man with a beard looks dirty and tramp like to me, my friends dh has one now and she's said to us how she can see food bits in it no matter how "clean" it is. Yuck.
