I wish DH and DCs enjoyed our garden as much as I do.

I love the summer and really enjoy being outside in our garden. I like to eat out there, or just chill and chat with a glass of wine, or play basketball with the DDs. It's like another room, our house isn't that big so summer feels more spacious.

Yesterday I was out there on my own Sad. Teen DDs were flaked over the sofa glued to ipads, one of them even had a fleece wrapped around FFS, it was boiling (London). DH got in from work, told me he didn't want dinner in the garden as he'd been bent double in a boiling loft all day and wanted to sit somewhere comfy and cool, so he flaked out on the sofa with the DDs.

Fair enough I suppose but I feel these light warm evenings are so few in this country that we should make the most of it. AIBU?

YABU.

Not everyone has to love this heat. I can't stand it personally.

I also don't eat outside, the flies/wasps/other flying things annoy the hell out of me.

I love the shade. Luckily DP is the same. Grin

Love being outside but not a huge fan of eating there. Big faff bringing everything out and then j get too hot. Children hate the insects etc so ends up being stressy rather than relaxing. Happily sit on a sun lounger with a drink though.

YABU I'm afraid - you can't force others to enjoy what you enjoy.

I LOVE the outdoors, I am a farmer so I spend about 10 -15 hours pretty much every single day of the year outdoors from the crack of dawn until dusk regardless of weather. I find beauty in all the different seasons and weather conditions however, I HATE sitting in the sun cooking like DW does.

It's fine if I am in the shade with a nice breeze, or working away with the sun on my back but to just sit and read a book or eat my dinner in the full, remorseless glare of the sun sweating profusely is not my idea of a good time. If there is no cool shady area available outdoors then I will retreat inside in weather like this.

YANBU. I love the outside. We've been having breakfast in the garden for the last week or so. We've got a good-sized umbrella over a nice table in a garden with plenty of shady trees so it's not scorchio. Each to their own I guess but I just hate wasting a spot of summer by staying indoors.

I hate the sun.
I hate my 110 foot garden.
I am happy to have a drink in the shade but eating is a FAFF. Bloody insects.
My kitchen opens out onto garden so I can eat there and see it all.
