Had not bought a copy in a while so maybe I am behind the times... But seriously? £££!
Surely there must be another way to show my left wing bias!? ????

We went down from a 2 newspaper household (Indy and Guardian) to weekends only to now only when on holiday with no WiFi. Too pricey.

Go to waitrose and get it free, if you spend £5 weekdays or £10 weekends with a my waitrose card. I think that offer is still valid.

I used to buy a daily newspaper, and a couple of Sundays.

I do still buy, often when I know I'll be hanging around in places where I can't count on signal, as much for the crossword as the content.

Ridiculous amount of money for a newspaper; I rarely buy the Telegraph now, and that is 'only' £1.40, because I'm sick of paying for large coloured photographs of celebrities and increasingly limited news content and comment.

YANBU and this is why I mostly read online now. Shame because I like sitting and reading a newspaper at lunchtime but I refuse to spend the money.

If you buy it from a university shop it's 50p. I usually detour past the City centre university on my way into work.

No, a daily rag, cos even the Guardian is, at £1.80, is taking the piss.

Cheaper to subscribe, we get the vouchers and the full app included. DH won't hear of cancelling it.

No news in the Daily Mail?! But what about all the groundbreaking stuff about immigrants, benefit scroungers, Madiana, things that make you FAT and Kim Kardashian 'pouring her curves' into latex dresses? Not to mention baby bumps and 'endless pins'. If that ain't news, I don't know what is.

I attempt to read The Guardian online but it is the crappiest website ever, not keen on layout and it crashes a lot and takes ages to load.

Doesn't crash or take a long time to load for me. I like the layout, but if I'm buying it, I go for the Saturday Guardian at £2.70 - much more to read and a better time of the week to try and read it.

The cost of the weekday Guardian is still not much more than half the price of the average pint of beer. Or equivalent to the price of a greetings card.

Not sure I would ever buy an actual physical newspaper these days, unless I was going somewhere without internet and I wanted to read.

The websites are generally better; more content and the comments sections are usually just as interesting as the articles.

But I think YAB slightly U. £1.80 isn't a lot when you consider the amount of paper/ink/distribution costs involved. A typical glossy magazine is about £5 these days.

YABU. Everything has gone up in price, and newspapers are no different.

£1.80 for a daily paper, or half a pint of beer, and especially a greetings card is a lot of money, but for newspapers especially I can see that it will be hard to make a profit when you consider the cost of paper, distribution etc.

I get the Times on a Saturday because I like the food and travel sections.
