AIBU to think this is because I'm a woman?

I work in a predominantly male industry, it's a customer facing role - although not a shop.

I have lost count at the amount of people who have shouted, yelled and threatened me this year.

I'm starting to wonder if it's because I'm a woman?

I'm always polite with customers, never speak to them horribly.

What are your thoughts regarding this? Do you think people just see I'm a woman & not have as much respect as if they would if they saw a man?

I'd like to know your thoughts?

Ive worked in a male dominant environment for most of my life and haven't noticed that but Im a tough cookie so wouldnt put up with it/give as good as i get. How old are you? It could be an "age" thing? Maybe they see you as not having much experience in the field you're in and it comes across that way too?

Kate it's been over 10 years and has improved. Only been verbally abused lately Confused so definitely got better.
I just think certain jobs put you in contact with more arseholes than othersGrin whether male or female, an arsehole will be an arsehole to you.Angry
