Eating a sausage at toddler class?!

I took my son today to a mum and toddler yoga class. All the kids were playing and snacking so my son got peckish. He chose a sausage from his lunchbox and the teacher informed me that meat wasn't allowed in the studio. I was so upset and I couldn't just take it off my son so we left.
Now im home I just feel really shocked and angry. I'm vegetarian but my son isn't, he's only little. Don't really want to go back there now.
Who had ever heard of this before???

I'm just back from yoga, not a child or sausage on sight, just as it should be.

HollyAndIvyTime · 24/06/2015 21:32

Sausages are a very normal snack in our snack box, sometimes cut into round discs. Mumsnet fail, apparently. Oh dear :)

MamaLazarou · 24/06/2015 21:36

A yoga class is no place for snacking.

00100001 · 24/06/2015 21:46

sprintime this isn't a Yoga thread.

It's a sausage thread.

Sorry, the Hidden Emotions and Risks of Attempting to eat a Sausage thread!

tshirtsuntan · 24/06/2015 21:48

So van we have a "sausage" topic? Grin

00100001 · 24/06/2015 21:48

People might get excited and think it's a sub-topic of the new Sex Topic Grin

tshirtsuntan · 24/06/2015 21:49

can not van Blush

tshirtsuntan · 24/06/2015 21:50

I wouldn't like to see what a Cumberland ring discussion would turn into on the sex topic....

bialystockandbloom · 24/06/2015 21:54

I really don't get the connection between yoga and pork products. Confused

bialystockandbloom · 24/06/2015 21:55

Would a chicken drumstick have been an acceptable snack?

Klayden · 24/06/2015 22:04

Was I the only one who read the title and wondered if was a euphemism? Grin

HawkEyeTheNoo · 24/06/2015 22:06

Bloody hell!!!!! It's a fricken sausage!! Who are you lot to comment upon what another mother feeds her child?! My DS always chose little cocktail sausages and olives in his snack pots!!! Jesus god in heaven!! And the forcing sausages on people who might not like them for religious reasons?? fuck off!!!
Yanbu OP. If no meat is allowed in the class then there should be a notice or you should have been told when joining the class! I would not have taken the sausage off of my DS as that would have been unfair to him and probably stressed him out! It's nice you do something with your son that you are bother enjoying, ignore the pearl clutching halfwits on here. You can't say anything at all without being told your a shit mum for taking your kid to yoga and giving him a sausage to eat!! Probably half of them posting whilst feeding their kids a mcdonalds!!!! Wink

Floggingmolly · 24/06/2015 22:11

Not in the middle of a class they're not, Hawkeye. Why do lunch boxes need to be brought everywhere these days? How many "lunches" are necessary in the one day?

MitzyLeFrouf · 24/06/2015 22:11

Sheesh. Calm down and take your finger off the with the exclamation mark key.

ouryve · 24/06/2015 22:18

I think you've been overdoing the nitrites, hawkeye

Klayden · 24/06/2015 22:24

I'm craving sausages now. :(

HawkEyeTheNoo · 24/06/2015 22:25

No, admittedly I've had an absolute shit of shit days........ Hmm But I love an exclamation mark!!!!!!!!!

WeekendDilemma · 24/06/2015 22:26

This is a brilliant thread. I thought it was going to be someone complaining about someone else eating a sausage at a toddler class, but this is even better.

We need confirmation of what type of sausage it was.

I have been inspired to change my username in honour of this thread! Smile

Pipbin · 24/06/2015 22:59

Why is it that anyone in authority thinks they can dictate what people can eat these days? Idiots

Would you start chewing on a bacon sandwich in a Jewish temple?

Pipbin · 24/06/2015 23:02

Another thought - yoga sessions near me are held in a building that doubles as a hindu temple. Could this be the case here and the reason they don't want meat eaten in the building?
