To want my food on a plate?

Just had an all day cooked breakfast in a greasy spoon type place to have it served on what looked like a roof tile with my cup of tea in a frigging jam jar with a handle. The grease from the fry up mixed with the egg yolks ran straight off the tile and onto the table cloth.

I then posted about it on facebook and a friend pointed me to Twitter @WeWantPlates. Apparently this is a thing and plates have become obsolete.

AIBU to want a plate and a mug?

Surely a deconstructed ploughman's is a ploughman's?

There's a new Wetherspoons opened near us. We have eaten there three or four times. Last time we went we twigged what it was we liked about it. Food served on plates. No baskets of chips, no slates, no planks. Thank you Wetherspoons for not following all the other pubs round here into the world of deconstruction.

All these non traditional serving options need to GET IN THE FUCKING SEA. Possibly the funniest Twitter account ever.

I need to direct DP to that twitter site. He's doesn't even like pies in dishes. Chunters like mad while upending them pointedly.

I didn't want to like the Get in the Fucking Sea twitter account, but I did nearly snort tea out of my nose at 'Sea. Now. Get the fuck in it.'

I had dinner yesterday, served on a plate, but the plate was a long rectangle and the table was round, so it was impossible to get it near you you.

So my caveat is food on round plates. And make them white too while you're at it. I am specific.

Ew, imagine a spoon scraping inside a terracotta flower pot. Or a knife on slate, or a fork jamming into a house brick. Makes me shiver. Many definite contenders here for the GITFS site.
