friend posting underware photos online going on about "no excuses"

derivingfromerth · 24/06/2015 08:21

No I'm not jealous. But one friend constantly posts pictures in a state of undress. I get that they are into the gym and that but today they've just posted "I work full time during the week and bar shifts at weekends, there is no excuses"

Apart from they are single , no children, no dependants, they work as an estate agent (not exactly rocket science), don't have a garden, don't need to help out their family and they have always been in good shape, probably due to genetics etc.

OP posts:
eggyface · 24/06/2015 08:45

I'd be kinda fine living with the knowledge I'd insulted every estate agent Grin

Ragwort · 24/06/2015 08:45

Why on earth are you friends with someone who wants to post semi naked on FB? Perhaps it says something about your choice of friends.

Equally, why are you so sneery about 'just a sales job' Hmm - selling is a skill like many other 'skills' but people often feel the need to think their own profession is somehow 'superior'. Yes, I work in sales Grin.

Littlecaf · 24/06/2015 08:51

I hide people like that. The same with my lovely dull friends who constantly post pictures of their dinner.

I bet they hide my pictures of DS!

Peachyfacegurl · 24/06/2015 08:53

Wow you're incredibly rude about Estate Agents
Nb I work as a social scientist I wouldn't sneer at other's careers

Mrsjayy · 24/06/2015 08:59

I had a friend like this all i could think was i can see her ribs unfriend or do the see less of function you wont get her pictures it is dull and egotistical

Only1scoop · 24/06/2015 09:02

Just pop on "nice legs Shame about the boat race" the gym won't change that....

fredfredgeorgejnr · 24/06/2015 09:03

She sounds happy, with a job she enjoys and a balance to the things in her life. You sound miserable, judgemental about her job, her choices and her happiness.

Only1scoop · 24/06/2015 09:05

I'm not on FB but do people really post this shite?.... Is she really saying 'look at my amazing body you could also look like me'

Do you really know people like this? Ughhh

Bambambini · 24/06/2015 09:06

What an arse. I usually unfriend or hide folk that annoy me (even the ones that are perfectly nice) but might have to keep this one for the drama and to laugh at her arsiness.

diddl · 24/06/2015 09:07

No excuse for what?

Going to the gym or posting underwear pics?

I choose to do neither.

They aren't compulsory & I don't need an excuse!

IAmNotDarling · 24/06/2015 09:16

I have a friend who posts pics of herself in underwear to sell her forever living aloe vera gunk to show how her post baby tummy is melting away but she has just pulled her pants up .I just hide her posts now. Ignore and don't engage!

Tryharder · 24/06/2015 09:18

Why don't you post:

"OMG I'm sooooooo jel you look gawjus hun, you are truly an inspiration"

ssd · 24/06/2015 09:21

I'd hide her, and I'd hide you as well

you both sound a pair of charmers

AnyoneForTennis · 24/06/2015 09:22

you are sneery op

you sound very nasty actually, and yes, jealous

SunHighInTheSky · 24/06/2015 09:22

fredfred I think if she were that happy she wouldn't feel the need to guilt other people who don't do the style of exercise she does.

I find boastful people boring.

pinkyredrose · 24/06/2015 09:22

Blimey OP you're quite judgemental aren't you!

Skiptonlass · 24/06/2015 09:25

Oh I just love those posts. The correct answer is,

"Do you have a PhD in astrophysics? No? Why not? NO EXCUSES! I work full time, have two kids and have a PhD in astrophysics. You can too, you are just NOT WORKING Hard enough."

They generally stop after that. Twats.

UnspecialSnowflake · 24/06/2015 09:28

I really don't get the "no excuses" thing. Not everybody wants to spend great chunks of their spare time exercising. I don't, my hobby is writing fiction, but I don't go around telling people there's no excuse for not having written a novel. My lifestyle keeps moderately fit, I feel no need to have a six pack or start competing in triathlons, if someone else does fine for them but it's not for me.

SunHighInTheSky · 24/06/2015 09:29

It is the "no excuses" that comes across as crass. I'd have to block/delete after that!

NickiFury · 24/06/2015 09:30

I'm surprised posters are so very defensive of EA on this particular thread. They've been hung drawn and quartered on every other thread I have ever seen them mentioned.

I suppose some never miss the opportunity to dish out a little telling off on MN though.

TheCatsMother99 · 24/06/2015 09:31

I would have been right there with you if you hadn't made the comment about Estate Agents. I'm not an Estate Agent but I found that comment extremely rude and judgemental.

AnyoneForTennis · 24/06/2015 09:33

ohhh I see....its one of those GOADY threads......this is op's only post

SylvaniansAtEase · 24/06/2015 09:38

Post this:

'Wow! That is INCREDIBLE! How do you do it? I simply can't imagine how someone with no children and no caring responsibilities, who gets a full night's sleep every night and whose time is their own every evening, all evening, and who has a short commute to an office job can POSSIBLY have the energy to keep in shape like that!! I mean, you must have only eight hours a day free after work and a full eight hours sleep! HOW DO YOU DO IT YOU MUST BE SUPERWOMAN'

and then unfriend

Grin
038THETA · 24/06/2015 09:39

I do have a job that requires me to be highly qualified and is challenging mentally

blimey OP, I'd never have guessed that from reading your postsShock

Pumpkinpositive · 24/06/2015 09:41

I wouldn't post that. It sounds a tad... stalkerish. Like the OP fancies her or something. Confused
