To think the new Huggies Pure wipes are pretty rubbish compared to the old ones?

Just that...noticed the pack cover had changed, as had the number of wipes (56 vs 64) and the wipes themselves are very different, the liquid is full of froth and suds. The ingredients have changed considerably. I use about a pack a day so this is distressing me Grin

I don't know why they have to fiddle and 'improve' things that don't actually need improvement Angry

Leggytadpole · 19/06/2015 22:31

Another vote for Aldi's wipes, I discovered them and Aldi nappies when my DS was about 1 and couldn't believe I'd wasted all that money on huggies wipes and leaky pampers nappies.

I do think a pack a day seems wasteful but each to their own, I use a cloth for tables etc and a damp flannel for mucky faces and hands after eating.

Littlecaf · 19/06/2015 23:03

Oooh- DS had nappy rash this week for the first time, just realised I was using the new Huggies. Maybe that was the cause or contributed? It was so bad I bought Metanium!

SundayBea · 21/06/2015 18:20

YANBU I can't stand the new version, too soapy!

Newlywed2013 · 22/06/2015 10:10

Another vote for Asda little angels fragranced in the purple polka dot! By far the best and a good price

CurlyBlueberry · 22/06/2015 12:23

Huggies Pure are awful, fall apart as soon as you look at them! Number of times I've ended up with a finger covered in shit... Hmm

I use the Pampers ones now, either Fresh Clean if I can get it for the nice smell, or the Sensitive ones. Good thick wipes.

AppleYumYum · 22/06/2015 22:00

I was loving the Aldi mamia fragrance free wipes but they have just changed too! Has anyone else noticed? They are now very fragranced and sort of soapy, and the ingredients list has doubled in length. Definitely harsher on my baby with eczema.

Damn I was going to go back to Huggies pure again after I finish these stinky Aldi ones. Waterwipes did this awhile ago, dropped the number of wipes, price went up and no longer biodegradable.

Those fancy muslin clothes that come with Liz Earle style hot cloth cleansers are great for wiping faces and hands, really soft.

MissRainbowBrite · 22/06/2015 22:10

I always found the Huggies wipes too wet and soapy before they changed, I've used Asda Little Angels wipes for a while now. They are strong, thick and don't come out of the pack sopping wet.

AppleYumYum · 28/06/2015 18:38

No good at all, had a look at three local shops today and the new Huggies Pure wipes have taken over Hmm.

justbatteringon · 28/06/2015 18:47

Oh no! I noticed the packaging changing but never thought anything of it. I'm down to my last 2 packs Sad Might try some lidl wipes tomorrow.
Have they changed little angels wipes I always thought they were quite thin?

MummaV · 28/06/2015 19:12

They were on offer in sainsburys the other week and I stocked up. Wish I hadn't bothered. They seem more prone to ripping (can't get one out of the packet without a hole for love nor money) and are definitely wetter.
I struggle to find any sensitive fragrance free wipes that work for us though. DD has very sensitive skin and I have a chamomile allergy(which appears to be in most 'sensitive' things for some reason) but I think the search will have to begin again.

AppleYumYum · 28/06/2015 20:21

Am I the only one enraged by the new 'fragrance free' Aldi mamia wipes, they are so fragranced Confused liars!

Pico2 · 14/08/2015 10:46

Apologies for resurrecting a slightly old thread, but has anyone found an alternative to these wipes as they have changed for the worse?

MummaGiles · 14/08/2015 10:51

Argh they are awful!! If I try to take one out of the packet I get about 3. Not easy to handle when I'm also holding my LO's ankles in the air to stop the poop getting everywhere and all over his mat.

eternalopt · 27/10/2015 11:16

What's annoyed me more is the sneaky 15% price hike the reduction in size creates. Bad form huggies. Bad form.

Pengweng · 27/10/2015 12:18

Yes they are horrible! So wet and yucky. I liked them because they were drier than most wipes and therefore didn't just smear the poo around when trying to wipe. Unfortunately i bought a box of 18 so i have 16 more packs to use up.

Pengweng · 27/10/2015 12:19

Bugger sorry! Didn't read the dates!

cranberryx · 27/10/2015 18:31

I'm liking the little angels asda ones at the moment, only because they seem to be easiest to take out of the pack without taking 20 wipes out by accident.

That's disappointing about huggies pure though! I used to love them Sad

cranberryx · 27/10/2015 18:32

Damn, zombie thread got me too!

Senpai · 27/10/2015 19:12

I always favored pampers wipes myself, hate their diapers though.

Girlwhowearsglasses · 27/10/2015 19:33

56? That's deflation. When the DCs were babies (7 years old now) they were 74 per pack!

jeavcike · 27/10/2015 20:43

They often still have the old style ones in Home Bargains and, when they do, I buy as many as I can.
My dc are potty trained now thank goodness so we're not using anywhere near the amount of wipes as we were and one pack can now last nearly a week.

LaurieMarlow · 27/10/2015 21:50

A pack a day is extraordinarily wasteful.

LaurieMarlow · 27/10/2015 21:51

Whoops

eternalopt · 28/10/2015 17:39

What are we whoop'sing about? Are we not allowed to comment on old posts? I only commented on this one as I was annoyed at huggies and searched before starting a new thread, but I'm fairly new to Mumsnet, so don't know about "zombie threads"!
