We are going to London for a few days and I desperately worried that my one year old will just be stuck in a pushchair or a high chair for days on end. Can anyone help with suggestions of museums or anywhere with a soft play area I can use? Help meeee

Downstairs in the maritime museum has a lovely little children's area as well, has some tube with coloured lights and water bubbles that my one year old charges love staring at (and there are buttons to change the colours and other sensory play bits in there).
There is also a sand pit in Greenwich park which is fun.
If you get a really hot day then the queen Elizabeth Olympic playground is really fun. There is a children's play park, and water fountains that kids can play in, might be a bit cold for your little one but they might still enjoy crawling about on the edge. Nice shady areas for nap time as well.

Huge shallow paddling pool in the internal V&A courtyard.
If you have or can borrow a sling you might find it a good alternative to pushchair, especially with public transport, crowds etc.

OP, I used to bring a blanket in the buggy, so I could spread it out and they could crawl around.

If its warm Tooting Bec Lido has a lovely padding pool but the queues can be really long. Brockwell park has a great sand/water play area and the cafe at the lido is good for kids. Both of these are a very reasonable bus trip from where you are staying

Also Charlton Lido, Oxleas Woods, Woodlands Farm in Shooters hill all good for children.
