(name changed for obvious reasons) Posted here for most traffic

Please can you help me find my friend Jonny (in the picture). He left home in Stratford at 5am Monday morning with no phone and no keys and hasn't been seen or heard from since. The police are aware but consider him low risk so haven't started looking at CCTV or bank accounts. We have tried every place we can think of, plus all his friends are now sharing this on Facebook and Twitter - I'm just hoping the power of Mumsnet will help.

He's 45, about 5'3". He doesn't have his passport, we have called all the local hospitals and been to his regular haunts. He doesn't share finances with anyone so we can't see if there has activity on his bank account - we don't think he has seen his emails or his facebook as he doesn't have his computer with him either.

This is really really out of character for him, so we are all desperately worried. If you have seen him please contact me directly, or call 101 and ask for Missing Persons.

I'm going to ask nicely that people don't speculate as to why he might have gone, as I won’t answer. When he comes back (please anyone who might be listening) I think he would rather we hadn't shared his whole life on the Internet.

Please help me find my friend

Just looked at Facebook.

Message as follows:

Richard Clark: Great news he's been found safe and well have no more info

sadwidow28 · 18/06/2015 21:14

I see you already knew! But well done everyone for keeping Jonny's disappearance in high profile.

Perhaps it is time for us to allow the family and friends to have some privacy whilst they help Jonny deal with whatever caused him to disappear.

CrapBag · 18/06/2015 21:57

Oh thank goodness.

I hope everything is ok with him.

Latest news - reporting Jonny's safe finding:

Canary Wharf chef Jonny Rothfield 'found safe' after search goes viral on Twitter and Facebook

www.wharf.co.uk/news/local-news/canary-wharf-chef-jonny-rothfield-9486850

I am only posting in respect for the people who cared and 'bumped' this thread. You were part of the viral pleas.

I stand by my suggestion that we allow the family and friends privacy to get over this horrendous experience.

But I remain overwhelmed by the kind support that strangers gave when a girlfriend and Jonny's family were scared and feared for his safety.

PleaseHelpMeFindMyFriend · 23/06/2015 19:41

I just want to say another HUGE thank you to everyone who helped us by sharing and posting (and bumping). We are enormously relieved that Jonny is back safe and sound - now it's just a matter of putting all the pieces back together.

We have all been totally overwhelmed by the level of support shown by our extended network, and by complete strangers here and on facebook/twitter who made the effort to help us find him.

Glad that things have turned out ok. Hope all the problems get sorted and your friend will be fine.

sadwidow28 · 24/06/2015 15:55

Ooops, I forgot to mention on my fb that he has been found. I must thank all my friends and groups who shared. (I remembered to do it on Twitter)

Just so happy that there was a positive outcome for Jonny and his family/friends.
