Swallowing pills

I can swallow practically half a cheeseburger or chocolate but when it comes to a painkiller, nope!

Currently in agony with a trapped nerve. Have no way of crumbling up a pill as at work. Any tips on relaxing before doing this?!

If you have teaspoons you can crush it up between two of them.
Yoghurt is good or just chew the fuckers. Increases the surface area etc.

Ooooh I may try the head forward way, I read it on the internet just now.

My mum used to squash a starburst sweet and wrap the pill up in it. It was the only way she could swallow it

So is it that they're pills or the swallow thing? I'm now intrigued.
I put them in my mouth then take a drink, shake my head back like a horse and swallow. My DP often mocks me during this process making it very difficult.

Drinking from a bottle instead of a glass is supposed to help - apparently the action is slightly different.

I have a very sensitive gag reflex. What works for me is to think very hard about eating something yummy at the time I swallow - it makes the gagging feeling disappear.

I used to struggle with this too. Try taking some soft bread and wrapping it around the pill to make a squidgy ball. Then swallow with or without water. It is a bigger ball but it slides down much easier. Also, just knowing that if it gets stuck, it will just taste of bread makes it less stressful.
