to be this irritated by loud motorbikes

I live in a town centre so I don't expect total tranquility but why do people have these absurdly loud motorbike exhausts? they tear round the roads and I'm here with my windows open on a warm evening and they are driving me crazy, what do they get out if it? It's ear shatteringly loud, I would be embarrassed of I was making that racket but they seem to be showing off! am I getting old?

holeinmyheart - That's excessive - crush it once..& then extract the rider before doing it again. I hate them too. They will try & justify it & go off topic here. No, we mean the ones that sound like a panzer division. Let's all remove our silencers and then see if they like that.

I have nothing against bikes or cars but I think both should be as near to silent as possible

It's not a safety issue having a noisy bike - if you've the car stereo on you can't hear them riding past anyway

I did a double take when this old thread popped up!

We have just this afternoon had an issue with young motor cyclists who pull up right outside our office to rev their bikes INCREDIBLY loudly. The office is at the end of a cul-de-sac so we are sure they are doing it deliberately just to annoy as they know people are working inside.

So you resurrected a two year old thread just to say that you think motorcyclists should be crushed to death?
