to use Christmas wrapping paper to wrap birthday presents?

I have a few family birthdays this time of year and I'm loathe to go out and buy wrapping paper when I've got tonnes of Christmas paper (thanks to 3 for 2 offers when I only ever need two rolls!). Some of it is obviously festive but one roll is just plain red and another is blue with white snow dots.

Would you notice/mind if someone wrapped your birthday present up in Christmas paper or would you think they were just being tight/lazy?

We forgot wrapping paper one year and wrapped my fathers presents in Christmas paper. He had a terrible sulk. He was about 37 at the time, not 8

I buy plain stuff or nice patterns, today I got a roll of where's wally paper so I can use it for kids or adults birthdays. I also have a lovely holographic Christmas one that I use for birthdays, my husband is kind enough to carefully open the nice wrapping papers so I can use them again when I get him a present if I have used a single sheet from paper chase or waterstones. I'm silly about cards and wrapping paper but I make sure I get ones I can use for most occasions.

I use newspapers if I am desperate.

I get so many through the door...

Go for it!!! It's just paper... It's the meaning of the gift that counts!... I'd feel really chuffed that someone had even bothered to think of me whilst buying the gift.. FOR ME!!! ... And very pleased too that the giver had used what they already had to wrap it in... Economical in this throw-away society... I've done it and made light of it!! I've even used a plain coloured ( much reduced ) paper and drawn pictures on it with a gold/silver /white pen depending on the type of gift eg a Christmas pudding or a birthday cake .

I'm probably going to make a tit of myself here but this had bought back a memory...did anyone else used to wrap their existing toys/books in their old look in comics and play birthdays/Christmas? Please say it wasn't just me Shock
