I want to see Wet wet wet, but no-one to go with either:-(

Dd (12) has flatly refused.

LoveTheWets · 07/06/2015 18:52

Andrew - I won't really need to bribe DD, she's lovely and will no doubt accompany me if I promise not to do any mum dancing Smile

And whoever said Marti has not aged well Shock. Here is His Gorgeousness a couple of years ago

Magoria and Sugarplum - I'll put you down for holding up parts of the Mumsnetters on Tour banner!

Grin Looks like a Mumsnet trip to Wet Wet Wet is on the cards!

Do you think we can get Justine to put on a minibus?

LoveTheWets · 07/06/2015 19:05

Grin I was wondering if MNHQ could arrange a Meet & Greet for us and The Wets!

you would have to have a cold cold heart to make her go, maybe you should shed a tear and hope that love is all around, and she may make it tonight, or say goodnight girl and see her in the morning hoping that when she sees you it will be more than love.

but on the bright side this thread has left too many people wishing I was lucky.

I think that you should give in to the temptation of that sweet surrender and take her to the concert any way.

Ah LoveTheWets, I agree MP had been blessed in the looks dept but the drink/drugs have aged him probably more than he would if he'd been a squeaky clean livin' guy. He's a shell of the 'cheeky chap' persona he was years ago. All twitchy & nerves last time I saw him (which tbf was a good few years ago).

And the hairy ones - given they've both been 'done' for DA kinda takes the shine off my early memories.

Tommy was always pretty grounded & looks better than the rest IMO. He's not my type but he just looks the healthiest of the lot.

PintOfJohnSmiths · 07/06/2015 19:27

Oooh can i come with you?? I bloody love WetWetWet!!

I didn't know they where called "The Wets" for short, you learn summat new every day

IHaveBrilloHair · 07/06/2015 19:45

I want to go to the MN Wets meet up.

Bluetrews25 · 07/06/2015 20:16

Hope she goes with you, they are great, and all talented musicians.
I saw them live many years ago when moderately heavily preggers, and found out that the baby was definitely not deaf judging by the way he jumped when the music began!
Also saw Marty as Billy Flynn in Chicago - lush.

LoveTheWets · 07/06/2015 21:26

Hop in the minibus - shall we call ourselves the MumsWetters?

I know this is derailing, but I don't often get the opportunity to tell this story... I had a meeting with Marti Pellow once, I think it was possibly in a room at a theatre (in Covent Garden at any rate). He made me a cup of peppermint tea and looked meaningfully into my eyes and said something along the lines of "we've met before, haven't we?"

TOP QUALITY flirting. So obviously I love him.

LoveTheWets · 07/06/2015 21:59

I can imagine he's a wonderful flirt. Alas, imagine is all I can do ...

We'll have to make some banners

BreconBeBuggered · 07/06/2015 23:03

Bugger the Wets. Did somebody back there say Gordon Lightfoot was touring?

gabsdot45 · 08/06/2015 13:19

I'll come with you. I love Wet, wet wet

Do you feel it in your fingers? Your toes?

Do it.

squoosh · 08/06/2015 15:05

I thought I'd fallen through a wormhole to 1994 when I saw posters advertising Wet, Wet, Wet and Boyzone tours.

It would be a nice thing for her to do for her aged mum, but she'll have my sympathies.

squoosh · 08/06/2015 15:05

Marti Pellow looks shocking these days too.

SugarplumKate · 08/06/2015 16:12

No, he is still lovely!!!

Yes, yes to a MumsWetters meet up!!

NKfell · 08/06/2015 16:15

DO IT!! I got dragged there as a kid and ended up loving it!

I went to see Wet Wet Wet then Lisa Stansfield- didn't want to go see either, loved them both!

LoveTheWets · 08/06/2015 17:12

Boneyback Grin your post took me back several decades to my youth when we'd write stories made up of song titles!

Squoosh- wash your mouth out! Marti does not look shocking these days and I'm not an aged mum
