To not understand thanking husband for doing HER housework

A Facebook friends status yesterday was gushing about coming home from work and her husband had done all her housework . There were at least 20 replies of what a good bloke etc and not one person mentioned the fact he lives there too so why was it her housework ??

I would assume they split the jobs in their house in such a way that the jobs he did on this occasion were usually hers. That doesn't necessarily mean she normally does all the housework. If she said he did "all her housework" rather than "all THE housework" that specifically suggests to me that there's also designated "his housework".

I always thank my Dh when he does one of 'my' jobs.

If they are in their 50`s it should make more sense, surely?
