Because we all love a parking thread... AIBU to think you don't park an articulated lorry in a residential cul-de-sac?

So I arrived home this afternoon to find that I couldn't turn left into our cul-de-sac because one of the residents has decided to park his articulated lorry in a parking bay large enough for one additional car (a car was already at the top end of it). His top half is completely covering the path and his rear end is so far out into the road that you have to either reverse into the cul-de-sac or drive past it, turn around in the road and approach it from the other direction.

He's been parking a large work van in the parking bay for the past few weeks (against the rules in our title deeds which state no commercial vehicles are to be parked overnight in the parking bays) but the van appears to have morphed overnight into this monster.

I don't think there's anything that can be done- I don't know where they live, but AIBU to think this is a bit nuts?

Nice of him to apologise but I would still report the company given their snotty response.
Also, if he was so tired that he had to park like that should he really have been in charge of a fucking huge lorry?

I feel your pain OP. We had neighbours that left a monstrosity outside ours every night for months on end. But that lorry makes our eyesore look positively like a mini Cooper!

You could ring the company up and complain. He will get a ticking off from his Boss but then they'll know someone from the neighbourhood complained.
Also, I'm pretty sure that this invalidates insurance purposes? Aren't such lorries meant to be loaded somewhere safe each night? Like a Depot.

ExH was actually a SAHP and I worked full time.

There were other reasons for me to go for full custody, but he had always said he'd go for full custody and take DS away.
He has only contested the maintenance payments and can hardly manage once a week on Skype.

Are they thick? He is parked on the bloody pavement for a start. there is nothing right about that, given there do not appear to be parking bays marked up on the pavement.

Re the Insurance comment. One of Ex-DHs friends couldn't claim on his Insurance when his Car was damaged. On his Application he said he parked the car on his drive. It was parked on the street across the dropped kerb of the drive when it was clipped badly on the sides. Insurance wouldn't pay out as it wasn't where he'd said it is kept overnight. I'm presuming that the company's insurance had to state where their vehicles were kept.

Real hauliers don't do this Love this comment. It's absolutely true too. Anyone who values their professions reputation would never do this. There's plenty of bays by A roads etc where I see truckers parked up. We occasionally have a huge one of those in the original pic parked on a main-ish road in our village. Maybe once a month or so hence I've never reported it but thanks Disgrace for letting me know how I could if it got more frequent.
