to wonder why the scaffolders don't seem to want their scaffolding back?

It's been up about 3 weeks now. The job it was needed for was completed 2 weeks ago. But despite numerous calls from me to the solar panel company, and the solar panel company to the scaffolding company it is STILL THERE! Apparently it is definitely coming down this week Hmm. Well it's wed night now and nothing....

My NDN are making vaguely irritated noises about the sky dish not working. I feel awful but I don't know what else to do.

Is this normal?

"Tatters"??

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 07/06/2015 10:37

You should have just told them you'd put it on ebay, if it werent removed asap, someone would buy it.

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 09/06/2015 10:48

Brummy I think the tatters are some of the few people with fewer scruples that scaffolders!!

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 09/06/2015 10:53

EastMidsMummy hello, I'm from there, too!! a discovery in the West Midlands: scrap men, of varying degrees of legitimacy, in white vans or with flat-bed lorries, who collect stuff which is either left out deliberately for them (like old fridges, broken things) or who swipe stuff left unwarily. Some announce themselves like an ice-cream van, with a tannoy playing something indisr

*sigh

... indistinguishable or a horn/cornet. Others just cruise the streets on bin day.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 09/06/2015 10:58

Our local one appears to have. Fucking vuvuzela. Arghhhhh.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 09/06/2015 10:59

*appears to have A fucking vuvuzela.

Thank you again for random punctuation, iPad.

According to my builders they hire it for a standard term of 8 weeks. and I don't think they take it away before that unless asked to.

Stillyummy · 09/06/2015 11:25

I had this, after calling up and let posing my marbles at them they called me to say it had been removed. Imagine my surprise when I came home and it was there. Dozy lot had removed scaffold off the wrong house, it wasn't even there scaffold! Fortunately they were embarrised enough not to hang about and took down the correct scaffold the next day.

Stillyummy · 09/06/2015 11:26

*loosing my marbles!

IrianofWay · 09/06/2015 12:02

Shock stillymummy! Let's hope the builder weren't up on the roof when they removed it Grin

It never occurred to me that scaffolders would do this - it appears to be an unpublicised risk of modern life - the semi-permanent scaffolding!

If they'd have left it any longer my triffid wysteria would have got hold of it and they'd never had got it back.
